The owner is completely useless! She literally shirked responsibility and expected Tabatha to sort out everything for her without her lifting a finger 🙄 Stacey seemed a bit unhinged to begin with but really grew on me towards the end. She was really willing to change along with some of the other stylists. The owner is absolutely clueless about how to run business 🙄

These people are painfully ordinary. You can lead a horse to water... By the way, were you as unimpressed as I was when Joe told the Manhattan salon director that in the salon he "manages" they don't even offer the clients coffee or cold beverages?! Oh my goodness, my eyes flashed at that part. I have no idea what relationship he had outside of work with Jacqueline but he's blagged his way into a full time job and is not earning his keep, even doing his job. He's a lucky man to have been hired in the first place and his complacency and lack of ambition and personal pride just scream ordinary yokel. Who hires a man like that to lead their business?! Red flags ahoy!

I think she really was able to light the fire again in the staff and show a couple of the stylists that they are worth more than what that salon offered. In the others with lack of education, she was able to make them see that they need to improve and in the end they really wanted to improve, the problem is they are not offered any extra trainings, at least one of them took the initiative to seek education herself. So I wouldn't say Tabitha's visit was without any results, however without management present daily and a leadership-mindset from the owners and just treating the staff as if they are robots to bring in money, the business won't thrive nor be successful.

I’m surprised this salon has any clients. Got the impression non of them were fully trained. If I went there, I wouldn’t be going back. I would rather pay more and get a good service. I worked in a salon when I first left school about 30 years ago. We worked hard, and all had a uniform, which made everyone look professional. You didn’t stand around, if you didn’t have a client to shampoo, you helped clean. The salon was clean and was always busy. Clients booked many appointments in advance. They made it a successful business and ended up opening up four other successful salons. That was how you run a good business. The stylist who had years of experience didn’t even use the correct cutting comb, mmmm what does that say about her haircuts.

I have not seen this one! Thank you. Okay, this is one of those places where they simply wanted a makeover that's all they seemed interested about, any salon that doesn't invest in their staff's education and progress, if you are working in such a place and want to be a great stylist - GET THE HELL OUT!!! a stylist with 29 years of experience gets told they need to improve their techniques... WOW, they seem to be happy with being 'trashy' check your lipsticks and cleavage out! Joe seemed a bit too familiar with the staff (hope I'm wrong, but he seems like a player) because doesn't seem much to have much brain just brawn, Josephine seems to be okay with mediocre so Good luck to them, they seem more fit to star in The Housewives of New Jersey. I worked in a salon for 7 years for very demanding bosses, customer services was key, no shouting, cursing, or bad work and we busted our arses off, they were tough, bullies at times, and we had to keep the salon spotless daily! But it was extremely busy and the clientele would queue and wait if they had to to get their hair done, some didn't even 'book' they already had their appointment booked permanently on the weekly basis, clients flew from America and other countries to come and get their hair done and fly back. P.S we got checked on our whole appearance also, I was once told off for wearing a tank top in summer and had to wear a gown, 'our clients don't pay to have armpits in their faces!' Roots, bad hair, makeup, outfit, jewellery, shoes, nails name it if it didn't meet their approval you would get a verbal telling off and warning!

@juliawacker
@juliawacker Жыл бұрын
No offense but if the client has an unrealistic vision of the hair job its the stylists job to tell the client what is possible and what's not. If you want you hair bleached shortly after you permed it, it will damage you hair and the client might suffer breakage and hair loss. Also you have to tell the client with dark brown hair, that she can't go ashblond within one sitting or a client with very damaged hair that wants her hair dyed, that the hair can't change the color evenly because some are more porose and damaged than others. If you just say yes and amen, you will end up with a upset client who got something different that they wanted and they will rate your work purely on that single appointment.

I love my salon. It's shiny, clean, and beautifully laid out. The staff wear lovely uniforms and get me an herbal tea on arrival. All my details are on the computer, including photos of previous styles. It is money well spent. I would never visit that shop. And don't bring your immature husband to work.

After the first 10 minutes I knew how the episode would play out but I wanted to see if I would be wrong, my gut was right. Josephine just wanted a free salon makeover without dipping in her pocket herself, such a freeloader. I respect Tabatha for staying for the staff and helping them become the better versions of themselves but I would of stopped the process after day one and moved on to the next project that actually wanted to change and better itself.

Joe is a meathead and it's not his environment. He'd be more at home at a construction site riffing with the boys.

Your supposed to trust the hairstylist with the worst hair in the salon- they have done all the others, but the others have done theirs. By this theory Stacey would be both a fabulous hair stylist and a fabulous make up artist. I would love to see how her style has changed in the last 20-ish years!

If I was just walking by looking for a salon, I would open the door of that place and close it right back. That salon is nasty.

Josephine, the woman came and said she wants to make her hair blonde and you literally insulted her and refused to do it. How dare you? I’ve never been to beauty school but even I know how easy it would be to lighten that woman’s hair. She is just so tacky and living in her big hair, too much makeup Long Island bubble, she thinks anyone who doesn’t want to look like Snooky, must be bookish and boring.
