The reason Midge being pregnant was so controversial is because she didn’t have a wedding ring I believe. Since they sold the Midge pregnant without her husband, that Barbie was “promoting unwed mothers” so people weren’t happy. Even though there was a wedding line for Midge and her husband

I agree with you that Barbie had just about every career that a kid could imagine. When I was a kid back in the dark ages, my Barbie was a nurse and/or a resistance fighter saving G.I.Joe's bacon. (My dad's influence in watching all of the WWII tv shows.) As an adult collector, I buy everything astronaut related and I have that 80s pink astronaut in the three racial types offered and all of her extra fashion packs. I thought they were campy and fun. I have Barbie and all of her Rockers friends too. The military themes in 1991 were a response to Desert Sheild/Desert Storm in Kuwait. I remember the 1989 hoopla because Barbie was the pilot and Ken was the flight attendant. Then the African American Barbie pilot was dancing with the white Ken in Paris and it made the news in the US. Barbie as a train conductor was fun because she had a train playset that was pink of course. I know that I write too much but I just got a nostalgia attack watching this one.

Someone who studies bugs is called a Entomologist, I love the fact that Barbie has so many different careers and that it helps inspire the kids that are playing with her. One of the dolls that you forgot was a marine biologist, she had a set I think it might be a SeaWorld set where she had color changing legs and it made her look like she was wearing a wet suit I think it's ocean Barbie and Keiko but the set came with a big killer whale that squirted water. I had all the animal Barbie sets because that was what I wanted to be when I grew up was a vet. I work as a Veterinary care coordinator at a vet hospice. My name is Barbie by the why my dad named me Barbie cuz I was born small and he always used to tell me that the original Barbie had black hair I don't know how much of that is true but I always liked the design of the original Barbie she looks fabulous I love those designs from the '60s and I wish they would get released.

A shop girl, and probably others I’m not aware of . The Barbie Millicent rogers line had a business woman.
