Ref state pension rise, it might go up in April, but they take 20% tax. Perhaps raising the personal allowance would also better more people as well as pensioners

Please remember that a lot of pensioners are on the old state pension which is considerably lower than the new state pension so the increase is a lot less.

Plenty do, sadly. I must admit, I’m much better with money now than I was before I met my partner. Not sure I like the idea of a secret savings account, but marrying a financially irresponsible person (as my niece did) can present all sorts of problems. So maybe check your partner’s attitude to money before you tie the knot.
