I've learned this ability on Laws of Human Nature and improved it on Daily Laws, it really, REALLY improved my social power. Just listening to people and watching the signals they give, seeing the world in their eyes, it's extremely exciting. Every person is important and everyone has something to offer, it's just ego and narcissism to think otherwise. Thank you Robert Greene!

Robert, I picked up The 50th Law in high school and it changed my life forever. Because of the insights from your books, I was able to attract mentors and clients who helped me build a business during and after college. I wouldn't have had the confidence without you. I'm eternally grateful for you and your work.

I learned to do this in high school(focusing on the other person instead of myself), as I was so concerned with how others perceived me, and in order not to lose my and their respect, I discovered that by placing the spotlight on the other person, it was the solution to many problems at the same time - I wasn't as shy( as I wasn't focusing on my self) and I could control the outcome of situations way easier.

Focusing on others came naturally to me. I enjoyed it a little, but at some point, I realized no one was listening to me! I'm somewhat of a private person and don't enjoy sharing my problems with others. After many years of feeling "used", I pulled back and stopped being everyone's therapist.

Yes this can happen if you're not careful. But the point Dr Robert is making is also very valid. In order to achieve results sometimes you need to relate yourself or your objective to their goal or target.

Look as someone who used to relinquish their power to others and have it be abused and taken advantage of, I will be as selfish as I need to be. I will help myself first to help the world. Change myself to change the world. There is nothing better than being selfish and I stand by that. Robert have you met people lately? It's wild out there.

No he isn’t saying to be selfless. He is telling you to be persuasive. The way to do that is. Not by telling people I” like this” “I want this”. They will retaliate, they will never listen to you. But instead see what they like and study them then you can use those information to get what you want by infusing your ideas inbetween and make them like what you like.

I just want to say that I'm currently reading the laws of human nature after having read the art of seduction, and I'm astonished! I recently cut off a narcissist with whom I had an intimate relationship. I knew from the very beginning his behavior was toxic but I found myself unable to resist his charm. Now that I'm reading the book I'm reading the book I recognize and understand these signals much better. Also I wanted to mention that your writing style is truly enlightening, giving explanations in a simple yet not simplistic way, combining examples from history, art, philosophy and science in a way which can be easily read by the average audience. Greetings from Greece 😊

Hey Robert, I don't know if you read these but I'm writing anyways. In one of your Reels you said 'time is of the essence' and talking about how we have to really get energized and work on death ground. But also in your book mastery (If I understand correctly) there seems to be an emphasis on having a slow process. And 'not rushing' the process is important. Regardless, thank you for every lesson.

Every time I hear Greene say 'other people', I hear (or, re/interpret) him say the persons (like I am THE person) in my life. He (or, at least, me) think ... that does not mean... people [person-like] in general. Not all two feeted, cloth clothing, home dwelling, work going living things are humans. To be considered human in my book, you need to ... ... .... BE in the book! There is no other way of describing it. It. Is. In. You. or, it is not. Gd night.

Storms don’t last forever. - Unknown Survival in today’s world is difficult. Therefore, we need to remember and practice some real-life skills to combat any situation that lay ahead of us. Remember that life is actually a roller coaster ride, and we need to accept it as it comes. Nobody has seen the future, and therefore it is useless to overthink it. Overthinking will not only ruin the present situation but also crush our confidence. Dedication and confidence are important in combating with any situation with complete stability of the mind. Life is full of ups and downs, and we need to realize the fact that no matter what we do, problems are an essential part of human lives, and we need to live with them. Try to find positivity even in negative situations in life. This will train our minds to find a solution in any adverse situation.
