Listen everybody, I watched this whole video and let me tell you all something. Matt is the key to becoming pro, however I see many comments oh I don’t have scouts and all that well that’s not his problem! Matt is the key to becoming pro only if you put in the work, you can watch all the drills he does but if you don’t do it why the heck are you saying you want to become pro if you don’t put in the work. That’s all I’m going to say, peace.

Just for the lols no doubt about it but sometimes just training and waiting for the moment to come is best. Or instead of that, and instead of complaining you go out there put yourself and your talents on the market and get an agent by yourself not by complaining on a KZbin video

ND_Nemo this is very true but there is no excuse. I lived in the US all my life and since last year I moved to Uruguay at age 17 to go and try to play professionally because I could not afford the amount of money it cost to play in academy teams or go to university. Now I’m signed to a professional club and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without leaving.

Just my two cents here: Matt is a solid and reliable defensive player, and he deserves to play pro. But if teams are on the fence about him I think they need to think about signing him not only because he's a great player but also because he has a big following on social media. In an era where USL is struggling for viewership and attendance, I think having a player AND a youtube personality on your team is beneficial for everyone. Organizations not only want to win but they want press and money as well. They need to consider it.

@joepowles486 жыл бұрын
How do the divisions work in the U.S.A?
@michaelstein75106 жыл бұрын
Joe Powles Officially, we don’t have a pyramid, but for all intents and purposes, the top three divisions are basically a pyramid. MLS is the top division. The USL Championship is the second division, and USL League One is the third divisions. (The USL president is English, so he named them after the leagues in England.) Only the top two leagues are fully established right now. League One is rapidly growing with pro teams from smaller cities as well as MLS academy teams. The NASL used to be the second division, and even the first division before MLS existed, but is now a dead league. There is also another league called the NPSL Pro that is attempting to gain sanctioning as a third division league. And Canada now has its own league that will be about that level, too. It’s complicated. Professional soccer is growing very quickly in this country. I expect the pyramid will have dozens more professional teams by the time we host the World Cup in 2026.
@joepowles486 жыл бұрын
Michael Stein thank you so much, do you have any idea how much the second, third and even forth division earn. If they earn at all?
@michaelstein75106 жыл бұрын
Joe Powles I have a friend who played in the USL. He made about $15K a year, plus the team paid for his apartment. That’s not enough to really make a living, so a lot of USL players have a side job during the off-season to make money. Not great wages, but miles better than they were just a few years ago. Beyond that, third division players make very little money, barely enough to be professionals. A lot of those players will be teenagers, MLS academy kids, and college players. The good players will quickly advance to the higher divisions.

I've said this before from when Mr. Sheldon compared himself to an EPL player, and I truly believe he can play in the EPL, Bundesliga, and some of Europe's other top leagues. He puts in a lot (even a lot is an understatement for how much he trains) hard work and dedication, which is why I see him playing for these top teams. He is definitely an example of what a professional should be and is definitely MLS bound as well as Europ's Top Leagues bound
@superdocmen15106 жыл бұрын
Matt's work ethic definitely seems to be there (Although I don't know how top level pros train compared to him), but the main thing I would say he is lacking in is natural talent and skill. As he has said kn a previous video, it's about being consistent, if he can achieve that, he could have a good chance at making it in a decent league/team.
