Evening, Here goes, I'm a 34 year old male who has enjoyed soccer for as long as I can remember. Through the years I have and some great memories. So I've decided starting December 1st I will get in the best soccer shape I have ever been in my life. This is a goal of mine, also to set example for my daughters. Should I do a vlog on this and would you be willing to look at my progress from time to time?

When you mentioned your regrets, what I immediately thought of is that for a player to reach the very top, their environment really has to be naturally optimized. You spoke of that you wanted to play more small sided games but at the same time you didn't really have any friends to play with. That's why you can never really beat your environment, unless you change it e.g switch clubs, locations etc. However, when you're a kid and really can't affect your situation I think you really should try to do the best with the cards you've been dealt 🤙🏼

Hey Matt! Major fan here! Watch all your videos just don’t comment in a lot of them. First I want to wish you the best luck in finding a new team. I know you’ll be good even though at the moment it may not seem that way! Secondly, Sony makes a wireless mic that you should look into! It’s called the Sony ECM-G1 Ultracompact Camera-Mount Vlogger Shotgun Microphone! :) hope this help! We’ll all here for you and you will find a new team!

Regret 1: Never in an academy. But there wasn't one around at the time. Regret 2: Wish he played more small-sided games, rondos, futsal growing up. But his neighbors all played other sports, so wasn't able to. Regret 3: Overtrained in the gym.

Q&A session:- What is the average payment a USL player get? Atleast give us a idea. Is it worth to play there as a foreigner? Because as a tier 2 player, you need to save a lot of money for unusual circumstances.

How do you deal with coming back from injuries? I have been injured off and on for the past 2 years, (toe fractures, hip contusions, high ankle sprain and now have a regular sprain) Every time I get 100% ready, in the next month or so, a dumb challenge from an opponent, or me trying to come back too soon puts me right back with another injury. How do you and other pros pace yourselves when you are coming back from an injury so that you don't get reinjured or injure something else because you are compensating for that other injury?

Hey, I have question! What should I do if I want to become a soccer player but I don’t have team or any academy or equipments that my parents pay for that I can practice with?
@magamaga18272 жыл бұрын
I really think Matt's comment about little small side games/rondos with kids on your street or in your neighborhood is the single most important thing missing in US soccer compared to Euro and Latin countries. The idea of walking outside your house at 10yrs old and having a ball at your foot ALL day with friends is immense. I grew up in the NY area up until 7 yrs old and then my parents moved my family back to Dublin, Ireland for 3 years, where I played soccer every day with about 20 other kids in our little Irish cul de sac. In Ireland, I was barely average compared to the other kids but when I moved back to NY in the 4th grade, I was a little "prodigy." I played one season of intramural and was quickly being recruited by many top travel teams in my area. However by about 14, a lot of the other local area kids caught up to me so by then I wasn't as far as ahead as I was at 9/10 yrs old. Ended up playing D1 college which is all I ever aimed for (no MLS in the early 90s). Funny enough, my college had 2 other players from Dublin which I American kids have to be outside playing every day - however we all know the opposite is happening. Worldwide actually.

Yo Matt I have 5 months and will not be playing any games or practices for my team, I was instead planning to train very hard on my fundamentals every single day and practicing on weaknesses and strengths and also being in the gym everyday. I realized that I can pass and dribble in my games and practices but against teams from other countries I feel like I have no chance against them and I want to be better than most of them. Can I become the best when coming back if I put in hard-work and dedication? I am currently in MLS Next Houston Dynamo.
