I love the Jailgoons since it kinda has the implications that even Fawful couldnt break the most loyal of Bowser's minions and instead put them inside mech prisons so they couldnt cause trouble and given they are so strong only someone like bowser could break them out and it shows they are greatful since they give you gifts after you free them

For those who are curious. Here is word for word what the Caged Bob-ombs say if you talk to them as Mario and Luigi. I took a video of the occasion to remember it exactly and here is what they say… Bob-omb 1: “That’s Mario!” Bob-omb 2 & 3: “Whoa Mario?!” Bob-omb 4/Phil: “Let’s Get Him! Bob-omb 5: “But how?!” Bob-omb 6: “Yeah Phil, HOW?!” Bob-omb 7 & 8: “We’re CAGED!” If you talk to them a second time, this is what they say… Bob-omb 1: “Hey,Luigi too!” Another Bob-omb: “Who’s That?!” 3 other Bob-ombs: “Ignore him!” Talk to them again and they’ll cycle back to their dialogue about Mario and talk to them again after that to see the dialogue about Luigi. I think the Mario Bros. need to unlock a certain ability to reach the place where the Bob-ombs are caged, and it can’t be unlocked until after Bowser gets the 2nd Star Cure. Upon getting it, you lose your ability to play as Bowser until after a certain point in the late game meaning that you won’t get a chance to go back and free the bob-ombs for a while. Keep that in mind if you want to see this dialogue for yourself. I personally think it was totally worth it! I’ve been waiting to share this for a while!

IIRC they technically dont since if you open the shortcut bridge at the end they can dig under the door that requires the bodyslam and then just walk through the shortcut since I believe they actually patch the hole up again. just cant get the entire button combination for the optional attack pieces but that you can brute force.

My headcannon for what bowser does while the bros are doing things in his body is that chippy tells bowser “hold up, something is happening and it can help you out. I’ll let you know when you’re good to leave but I can fix something here right now” like she did when you first meet the blooper pipe boss all the way at the beginning.

Seeing how Bowser actually takes initiative, has his own unique tactics based on his brawn, and displays admirable leadership, while also showing his short tempered, gullible nature. I honestly agree with this because and pretty sure the roulette failure count is at ten approximately. And knowing what battle is coming up next, I know that so many people dislike it and I understand why but personally, from a design perspective, I really love the Fawful Express since I really love trains so much. Although I find it very hilarious with Bowser’s reactions to realizing how his stolen treasures were “stolen” in the secret chamber and then getting crushed by the express. Dude Bowser is such a tank, that scene were he is getting smashed through those boulders by the train he’s just taking them and then to top it off it even looked like he was gonna be able to stop the train without needing help from Mario and Luigi if it wasn’t for that pebble. I loved playing as him (in the original only, in the remake he feels stiff as a board and as soulless as a politician).

Jailgoons are Further proof that some of Bowser’s Minions were too loyal to brainwash, which is just the best. Granted, several clearly are weak to it, but not all, but there’s still something interesting to it. Of course, on the other side of things, the Monty Moles are implied to have sold out to Fawful without mind control, same with Corporal Goom and the other two.

Hey hey, it’s me again ready to glaze BIS Bowser Castle (brace yourself)! This 2nd trip to Bowser Castle is just as good as the first. Whereas the first one had Bowser’s rude awakening that his home was brainwashed, this time he’s sorta accepted it and is going on a quest for the greater good. And before where Fawful had clearly gotten the main floor but had no guards in sight, this time it’s mostly untouched (until he gets to the treasure vault) with many enemies patrolling the upper floors and basement (most of them being his trapped minions). So clearly he’s protecting something down there. On a gameplay perspective, it’s just a fun dungeon that utilizes our new Body Slam more and we get a great Bob-omb Blitz (who also have an interaction with the Bros if you don’t free them, but that’s for another time, ironic that we almost stepped into that timeline today lol). Step into the treasure vault (which is a crazy twist in it of itself), where Bowser almost manages to hold back the crash, and you’ll have the last long point of no return (you’ll see what happens). Next time, we get to a duo of bosses, one of which infamous. Good news is we’ll be able to come back here one last time, and that’ll be great too, as that trip will have a greater mystery element than the other visits!

Can we talk about this: what would happen if Bowser went into one of the pipes that lead into his own body? and... How are those pipes even connected? Like, are those pipes just teleporters at this point. When they introduced those pipes in the first Super Mario Bros game or so. I imagine the developers just needed a mechanic to change screens and it totally made sense that those pipes were physically connected. But at this point Nintendo doesnt even care anymore and we just accept that such a random thing like sewer pipes is the main travel method in all Mario games. Just wanted to share this with you.

I see you struggling with Koopa Corp, and I suggest holding the stylus on Bowser, then drag it over to the right and doing the minigame from there. You get a much better idea of where Bowser is relative to the Koopas.

22:28 explosions are just the rapid expansion of gas, while it tends to be hot it doesn't necessarily have to be and there are many explosives that are shock insensitive or require both shock and heat, since the bob-ombs have fuzes they most likely have a detonator in them and are quite stable to most things, explosions that require detonators are (generally speaking) made in such a way that only the detonator can make them, well, detonate

Yes! Finally! That's what I was talking about! The EXP Socks! It has bothered me that freeing enemies from Jailoons reward you with healing, but freeing Chain Chawfuls do not really do so. 8:32 I remember that fish (specifically the tail) not showing any bones whatsoever the first time this room was entered, which may imply that someone came into the room and ate some of the food, possibly Bowser's minions, or most likely Midbus. 9:39 It took me awhile to figure out what to do next in this part of the game, but after noticing you can interact with the Fawful statue, I finally got it. I only really use them when one bro is ahead of the other in EXP to equalise them again. 09:12 This is the point where they really should've had another regular boss fight for Bowser, in my opinion. It's time for Bowser to retake his castle! To be honest, I completely forgot about this entire section until replaying this part. It's not that the area is bad - I just think it got obscured by all the cool exploration the bros can do and will do around this time. It's basically the last Bowser section until the loooooong final dungeon, with the most memorable thing about it being the Thwomps with colds. They're fun and funny enemies. Now when the Bros. come here... well, that toad in the clinic from the end of yesterday's episode is there for a reason... Actually, I remember now why I forgot this section - I've blocked it entirely because the giant boss at the end of this section is just... the worst. The absolute worst. Worse than the stupid carrot worse. Look at Bowser using his brain for once. I'm sure we all knew what was going to happen as soon as the sign near the underground entrance conspicuously mentioned the Fawful statue on the balcony, but props to Bowser for actually realizing that as well. Leave it to Chugga to continuously fall into lava at every opportunity. Interestingly, my first exposure to Chugga was Wind Waker, and I remember the moment I knew I had found a channel I would watch for years to come - when he jumped into the lave in Dragon Roost Cavern for like the third time, and smacked his forehead at his own stupidity - at the exact moment I had the exact same reaction. Oh a new move!... walks right past it. Never change. It's not my favorite Bowser move anyway. It feels just a bit too finicky with the perspective. The first time I tried it this playthough, they all just ran right past the enemy. So that was a good use of SP. Timing the ground pounds over the bombs is also a bit too finicky. I kept being a little too early or a little too late, and it took me far longer than it should have to get past those sections. Dracula area? Is that a Castlevania reference I hear? Outdoor stairwells at the tops of towers leading to throne rooms are sort of his thing...

im glad in this episode that you touched upon the oddity of Bowser just standing around for no reason during the Bro's section. the first time made sense with the water and "Chippy" told Boswer to drink up so any further action can be assumed to be he being told to do so again. but with stuff like the Boo-ray machine, nothing was said. he just kind of decided to stand around in that room for no reason and randomly punch the machine on and off for no reason.😆
