My wife is from china and we've been through all of it. It really isn't any problem, just time consuming mostly and plenty of money of course. She cruised through the exam and interview and became a citizen in July of 2021. I can't imagine why they let you go so far and then want to review your papers. I did all of our paperwork myself. It's quite easy but you must follow the instructions exactly. Many people freak out and get lawyers that often screw things up anyway. The only mistakes I made were forgetting that a K1 visa holder can apply for citizenship after 3 years instead of 5 and failing to send ALL, meaning every page, of a divorce document. I would love to have a conversation with you about your experiences before and after coming to the USA. Maybe sometime this summer we can meet up at a campground, or Wal Mart parking lot. lol We travel in a class C motor home with a small motorcycle for back up transportation.
@discoveryboundrv2 жыл бұрын
Congratulations to you and your wife as well. That is so amazing and we are so excited that your wife is finally an American Citizen. We totally agree with you on involving the lawyers. When it is just administrative then it's just money and time. In my case, I think I was caught up in people not 100% informed on the current processes. The agent seemed very new. We wished that he would have spoken with his supervisor at the time instead of turning me away. Can't wait to share the rest of the story with you. More to follow, indeed. Safe Travels.

Hi Johnny! Thanks for the support! We figure anything other than crashing the rig is a good day. We definitely have our moments of "RV Newbie" but there is no better teacher than the road. To be honest, we picked the RV Parks because we were new at RVing and didn't fully understand the many different options there were. We just booked a bunch of parks along our route and stuck to them. Plus, when we bought the rig, we never put in a generator or solar. Boondocking isn't in our cards just yet. We plan on outfitting the rig with more options so we don't have to be locked into one type of RV living. More to follow. Thanks again and safe travels.

Hi Annie, I came to the U.S. about 20 years ago on a Fiancé Visa and was told to get married or leave. :) Pretty harsh for a girl in her early 20's. Processing through U.S. Immigrations doesn't get any easier for people who have been here longer than others. It's the same process and pretty much the same wait times. However, Visa Applications and Citizenship Applications do have different wait times. Due to COVID there is sever backlog in processing times. Visa applications may take longer than usual. Please keep me posted on your (soon to be) family's status. We hope he gets good news soon. It's a very emotional process and that's why it hits so hard when you get bad news. Very humbling!
