i wouldn't call sami the weakest T2, but rather the hardest to use by far, anything below perfect movement is a huge loss and you kinda are paying way more attention to what you're doing with your infantries

Sami's vehicles don't lose 10% attack, just her direct units. Sami artillery is still at 100% power and is very much a part of her gameplay.

It is quite something that Sami falls two tiers in fog, while she still has infantry capture phase superiority, more cost effective mech units and her instant capping super working for low hp infantry who may have been able to slink out of sightlines during other combat. I haven't been playing AWBW long but I did manage to win a match of Sami vs Hawke in Fog by taking the enemy com tower and pushing them away from it with artillery in forests and mechs in mountains.

@@stellarkym yeah, having been on AWBW a while now, I'm very much sure its because I was new to the site and playing at ELO below my experience level with the game. although with samis matchups against T1, Hawke is definitely the most favourable, since he just has a firepower advantage and no real way to shut down samis gameplan, black wave/storm won't even slow down her regular capping

Using Sami everytime I had the chance, caused burnout for me. At about 1150 mmr I got more and more abused by top players and I realized how hard it is to get an advantage early on, that you need to win. The times you have to be smarter than your opponent is crazy, if the opponent just stalls. On the otherhand bullying the opponent in the early game is so much fun and taking porperties you normally can't take feels like cheating.

Sami can be rough and there is a natural tendency to overextend with inf due to the bonus so oftentimes if you're not careful you lose a lot of her inf

Another thing about Eagle is you want to target his non-infantry early on too. Wipe them out ASAP like if he was playing Andy so they don't come back to bite you. Also, transports become viable targets and should be killed right away too. If he does manage to use his Super, it will sting a lot less with his tanks, arty, and transports crippled beforehand.

@@beckerzineo That depends, some will benefit simply for the power charge and with Sami you want to keep as many infantry alive as possible over vehicles.

I feel like Sami being Tier 4 in Fog is a bit too harsh, especially when it’s based on players making mistakes and it’s in the same tier as COs like Grimm. I also think that Sami can be really good on maps with transport heavy gameplay. +8 on Black Boats is game breaking.

I kinda feel like that too. Sami is definitely the most misused CO and lots of beginners will try to swarm infantry instead of making tanks and choppers

Sami is banned in T4 because HQ rush map (or very exposed) without Black boats or other navy units on HQ, it's more that the tier list on AWBW is based on normal 3 bases competitive maps with 1 airport and no gimmick including HQ rush.

I really like your interpretation on eagle and how strong he becomes the longer the game go, in my opinion the reason why he isn't in a higher tier is mainly because that most tier 1 cos just hard counter him, like sasha prevention of power, Nell's random infantry kills and von bolts stupidly good engagements and early to mid game progress, eagle might beat hawk though cuz they most likely will get both of their Scop at the same time, as for Javier it really depends on the map, eagle can beat 1 Com tower Javier but any higher than that it would be stupidity hard mainly because artillery just doesnt work against him and how progressively stronger he becomes the more com towers he have. Really sorry for the late commenter but I had work and couldn't watch the video until today's morning, great video btw, and nice music.

Does Andy counter Olaf?

Not at all. Olaf has to time his scop to do kills instead of just popping it immediately, but Andy still has difficulties vs olaf, and not enough to consistently win vs him

It’s a StD 65 35, Fog 75 25 in favor of Andy. Andy’s COP and SCOP negate the global damage but it won’t negate the snow. Additionally, Winter Fury should only be used when you can get kills. However, that just means Andy is in control of the match and as Olaf, you’ll need to be more aggressive, have a better plan, and consider using Blizzard more often than Winter Fury. The match-up is harder for Olaf in Fog since Andy’s units can be protected on the fog and Olaf can’t make a plan as effectively when he can’t see all the injured units.

In Std, Olaf does better against Andy but that is the same with other COs, Andy is just generally better in fog. One thing to keep in mind is that Andy should use his Super before Olaf as not to negate Andy's often forgotten but useful speed boost. I think most times it's not a good idea to save it for after, Olaf is going to get a lot of kills if you save it and Andy's power would be rendered useless. If anything, pop that super to heal and use the speed boost to retreat and regroup, not to push Olaf.

So, one thing with Sami in fog is, while you're right that you can't just pop your SCOP with her and expect to take a bunch of properties, you can mitigate that by scouting those properties first with a recon or an infantry or mech on a mountain, then pop your SCOP if the coast is clear.

Do you think that Lash can go against some of the tier 2 cos? On the lower levels, she can beat Max semi reliably.

Lash struggles against Max because of her powers. She has a 4/7 bar instead of a 3/6 like Max. Her COP isn't great so you're pretty much stuck with using SCOP while Max can flex his own to gain an advantage. Lash's powers only sometimes give a movement bonus while Max always gets it. Lash's D2D and powers don't affect air units at all, which means that Max can zone enemy B-Copters with his own under threat of getting a boost in movement. Lash's best matchups against Max are on standard maps with heavy terrain and a weak airport (preferably none). Even then, Max is more versatile overall.

Lash only has mechs on mountains to counter Max but that's about it. Max will absolutely destroy Lash because he'll get his power twice before Lash gets her Super. Max also has a more reliable firepower bonus than Lash as she relies heavily on mountains and super to kill stuff. It's not a good match up imo. Max can even do well against COs above him like Sasha (he doesn't need his powers to stop her), Javier (Max won't use indirects), Hawke and Von Bolt (can end the game before they get their super), etc. Max ain't a bad CO. He's just not as good on maps better for arty and choke points. Even then, it's not out of the question if he can use b copters in said maps.

Lash is kind of outclassed by Kindle. Getting 10% and 20% bonuses on plains/forests are good, but they aren’t fantastic. Lash will mostly just have the same firepower bonus as Jake with some +40% Mechs and +20% Indirects. However, when it comes to cities, Kindle mops the floor. +40% on a city is insane. Cities are places you already want to put units on due to winning most 1-1 engagements normally. With Kindle, her counter attacks will do more damage back against a regular unit on plains than the first strike did. It’s always a losing engagement to fight a Kindle on a city with a unit of the same type. A 30% increase is good, but doesn’t make the mark where counter damage can do more in most scenarios. Additionally, Lash’s powers kind of suck. Her normal power lets you be slightly better Sturm for 1 turn and costs 4 stars, then her SCOP lets her effectively a 20% bonus most of the time and a 60% bonus conditionally for 7 stars. For perspective, Kindle gets a fucking 80% bonus on the same conditions AND a -3 HP to every one of your opponent’s units on a property as well, including Bases and Comm Towers. That’s also her 3 Star COP btw. If Kindle can’t compete with T2, Lash can’t dream of doing the same.

You think Olaf's normal CO power can be effective vs Eagle? I was playing versus one and he had a bit of a push on me early, not wanting to give him any early advantage, I used my normal power to weaken his push, and it was kinda sucessfull, I managed to get a lead early, and when his Super came out, it wasn't that davastating. That said, I'm afraid his second one will be too strong lol (I'll likely get my second Super first I think though, gotta used that to win, pretty much)

Potentially later in the game after you've used your SCOP at least 1 perhaps. But usually saving up to the SCOP is better because the blizzard only delays their LS by one turn usually

I wouldn't worry about the map size. Just picture the best situation for D2D, COP, and SCOP. Try to use cost effective trades in matches, lead in either city funds and/or army value and also get the com towers.
