You asked for my feedback on the video so here it is. Honestly, I got very little negative to say. You got a clear voice; your commentary is pretty decent for your first video, maybe a little stiff at times, but that'll get better with practice. It's hard to speak unscripted for 15+ minutes. On the visual side. Cut away everything that isn't the game. I don't know what program you use to record, but get the actual gameplay in focus. Remove tabs, programs, everything that is not relevant. It takes up space on the screen and distracts from the focus, which should be the match. I'd also move your webcam down into the lower right or lower left. Generally speaking, it makes for a better viewing experience. Your main selling point is that you're actually very highly rated, and know a lot about the game. That alone will make your videos worth watching, and this is a point you should hammer home very quickly into your videos. I'd probably try to put that into the title somewhere tbh. Maybe call the next video "1300 MMR rated player gives AWBW advice" or something (maybe try to find a more elegant title, but you get my point), it's not clickbait if it's actually true, and it will instantly tell people that you're qualified to talk about things. Even if some may view it as a little “pretentious” to brag about your MMR, I think it’s a good idea to draw eyeballs. Overall. I’m very excited for you to make more videos. Do another one with the advice I gave you for improved visuals, and I’ll share it on my channel to give you a big boost. We definitely need more highly rated Advance Wars commentators who can do actual commentary. There is so much wisdom about Advance Wars in the top brackets that is never shared with the public because these people aren't content creators, and that is a shame. Best of luck with your channel. Maybe we can do a colab at some point. I think you have a lot of things to teach me. Now as for some comments on the video itself. 5:29 - This is a great trick and highly useful to know about, but man I absolutely hate that AWBW works this way. I wish they'd try to stay as close to the original game as possible.

Thank you for the detailed feedback Mangs, it really means a lot. I really took a lot of the unscripted and scripted monologues you and many other KZbinrs do on a daily basis in videos for granted....it truly is exhausting mentally and physically. Props to you for keeping your work consistently high quality. I don't disagree with anything you've said, I'll be sure to incorporate all of your advice! Also I know how you much hate the transport bug (and you just released that transport vid), but that's one of my favorite AWBW gimmicks!

Here's to hoping they put it in Bootcamp and then it will be official! It makes transports so much better. I don't know if it would break the campaign though...

I find it neat how well it combos with Mang's video. Mangs covered all the technical aspects and then Deejus's video covered all the strategies and applications.

This video helped me immediately. For anyone coming here now, I think a good rule of thumb is transports can help when there are properties that will take an infantry at least 3 days to reach. 3 is the magic number: Normally the infantry has to go (1) Walk (2) Walk (3) Walk and Cap. With a transport, the turns are (1) Walk, Load, Move or Boost, and Unload (2) Walk and Cap. The transport doesn't save you time with properties that are 2 days apart, because you can't unload from the transport and cap on the same turn. I.e. an APC road trip will always take at least 2 days for the cap to start. You see the AI plop infantry directly on cities all the time, what a waste. I know Deejus doesn't play High Funds (Booo! More like High FUN mode) so it's worth pointing out that transports can be even more killer in HF, where each property matters that much more, people often open with gobs of infantry, the maps are bigger, and you can often get away with building even an APC that won't cause you to miss out on a tank. Oh and because properties give more funds, the transport needs to help with only a few properties to earn itself back in a day or two. Just do the math and don't end giving your opponent an early tank lead. That said I am a

Exactly the pro perspective I was hoping for! The reboot hype has truly brought forth many a great thing! Besides that, you're a great content creator! For a first video (your second one is great too btw) it's really spot on! Hoping the apparent tedious process does not dissuade you to share more wisdom in such an engaging way!

Really great video! Loved the intro with your background- I have a similar experience getting into the series with AW2. I'm trying to get better at AWBW myself and I think you have a great potential on here to make some engaging content. Keep it up. Looking forward to the next one!

Hah, I'm glad I'm not the only one who got into this game ages ago on AW2! Some of that nostalgia is a big reason why I (and probably many more) love this game. Thanks for the kind words too!

Great video! I too first played AW (AW1) 20 years ago when I was in 6th grade and a friend let me borrow his copy of AW1. This led to me buying AW2, then FE7 when I found out the game was developed by the same company. I hope you continue to find enjoyment making these videos with real gameplay.

I like this format a lot! Its short and full of interresting informations. Most AW videos are long, this is good as well time by time but shorter videos do stand out. For KZbin algorithm, if you plan on doing shorter videos, i suggest daily upload. If you got a lot of content out your videos will have more chances on showing up in suggestions. I suggest 1 long video a week if you plan on doing longer video, this way you will have the time to make lot of shorter videos like this one. Since your starting on KZbin, don't spend too much time on making your videos. ALSO some channels take long time to grow so don't expect the 100k subs yet, even if your good. KZbin is only nice to more known names and hes really hard on newer channels.

5:27 how is the transporter allowed to move, load the infantry then unload all in one turn?
@DarkCyberElf3 жыл бұрын
AWBW devs coded it that way initially then it stuck because it competitively speeds the game up and is less clunky than the way it works in the real games. The map designer in AWBW also breaks many of the rules of in-game map-making in this way (i.e. Pipeseams not attached to any pipes, terrain that can't exist next to each other otherwise, etc.). I do think there ought to be a Create Game option that lets you play the game "as intended" including with the CO's as they exist in a particular AW game (i.e. AW2 Sturm) but ultimately AWBW exists for hard-core fans who enjoy the competitive aspect of the game and sometimes trimming the nonsensical/unbalanced aspects of the game is necessary for a competitive environment.

This is basically a build order win which I thought wasn't actually a thing in this game. Turns out you need to know how to leverage transport units to get a lead in economy. I wonder which other maps have this kind of strategy.
