Weird to think about how productions like this will impact linear television over the next few years. History and Discovery out here spending hundreds of thousands of dollars a season on a show to *maybe* reach the same level of production value you're able to get ALONE. Wild. I somehow stumbled onto this video, that was my trapline in the mid 80's before it was a park. I used to work the area between Lower Wabakimi and Palisades river. Lived in wall tents and snowshoed. Fought fires in the summer. Those were the days. Thanks for the video, brings back memories.

Joe - Your evening silhouette shot at 58:55 is just one of those iconic theme graphics built just for you to use as a future screen grab. It is such a superbly pure visual, unscripted, clean and well composed, eye grabbing and so appealing. I think I ran out of superlatives to underscore my appreciation . I wouldn’t say I “am alone” but I can go weeks without talking to anyone, I go years now without anyone, friend wise no bars, no gossip. Just talk to the people I see when I go to the grocery store, this started when I lost my only real friend and when I got a job I work from home. The one thing I learned from living like this is how peaceful it can be. Once you get used to it, you realize you don’t have the pressures of society on you, don’t have stress of people around you drama. You never feel rushed, it makes all the little things in life like sitting by a lake more enjoyable. You’re no longer thinking about things you usually would, but you’re taking in how beautiful what’s in front of you is

And when I saw this book that you were reading I was immediately interested. When you described very briefly the writing style and of course a very short explanation of what the book was about I knew I had to have it. So I went online I found the edition you have and I've started reading it. A few terms and such I was not familiar with so I had to keep a dictionary or Google nearby. But very much enjoying the book Lonely Land. I've been on pins and needles waiting for part 4. I certainly hope your eye is all right. Thanks for the journey.

It is so nice to see you able to take it slow, as you said, for a while. Sometimes these rush rush trips seem to be exhausting, reminds me of old family vacations. If it takes 10 days it takes 10 days . If it takes 20 days so be it. Thanks so much for all the work you put into these vids.
