And Barry wrote the End of the Rainbow for Robin after Mo died to encourage Robin to accept things. In an interview Barry said he sang it to Robin at the hospital before he died.

The New York performance of this wonderful song is my favorite. "For Whom the Bell Tolls" is filled with soaring lines and emotion. There is also intense sadness when looking at the twin towers. There truly is a "hole in my soul." The Sydney concert was so special for many reasons (including Vince playing on three songs) and in this clip you can see the beautiful interaction with their audience.

Really liked that you could hear Mo's harmony very powerfully on the last version and he WAS getting into it. He was also pretty much their band director on stage as you could see at the end. I always thought the contrast between Barry and Robin was at its most effective in this song. Barry's soft voice was sadness at a lost love and Robin's powerful voice was the plaintive cry of someone gone forever. Alan should have been made an official Bee Gee after all the years he spent with them. His method of joining the band was hilarious. Mo..."Can you play bass?" Alan..."No". Mo...."Just say you can play bass". Alan...."OK, I can play bass". Over 2 decades later he still didn't play bass. 😊 As good as their songs were, I wonder if they ever got tired of singing them over and over. I suppose the audiences' appreciation nipped that in the bud. Have a great vacation!!!! ✈🚢🚗🍷

From the 1993 album, “Size Isn’t Everything.” One of my favorite albums from the Brothers, and I believe one of their best. Other great songs from this album include “Paying the Price of Love,” “Kiss of Life,” “Omega Man” and “Blue Island.” “For Whom the Bell Tolls” should have been a #1 hit. I saw The Bee Gees in concert in New Jersey when they were promoting this album. They were magnificent. Miss them SO damn much.

What a wonderful way to cap off a perfect weekend, Chad. Such a powerful and moving song. Every time this song was performed you couldn't help but be swept up by it. Robin's vocals are just mesmerizing and those perfect harmonies were simply to die for as always. Robin did indeed "own" this one and that interview with Barry and Robin included in the third version was simply great to hear. So many pearls of wisdom from those two amazing men. I love this song so much! It's just so beautiful! All four performances of it were absolutely amazing! I know I've seen the first one where they're outside a few times before. And, I may have seen the other three before as well, but I don't remember for sure if I have or not. What a masterpiece of a song this is. Absolutely beautiful. It makes me feel sad and happy at the same time. They were gifted songwriters and their musicality (is that a word?!) was sublime. I think they did write for the future as more and more people, young people are discovering them all the time. I love each performance of this song with Robin and Barry doing justice to the beautiful lyrics and Mo with his excellent bass and looking very easy on the eye. I love watching him move and getting really into the music. The band were very lucky to have the talents of Alan K. too. You should do this with "Paying the Price of Love" Chad, I've seen at least 3 great different versions. They sang together so awesome and Barry could stretch a note out forever, amazing. Next week I get kids running around me for VBS. Kids grow up really fast Chad, all my nieces and nephews are grown, and now I have their munchkins running around. Hi Chad !! I think what I have to say is quite important as many are confused about weather The Bee Gees are singing live or not and where. Well it depends of the event. In early days theyre performances were all live; singing and playing. Later they add some prerecorded tracks and effects, stomps... as their songs were different due to using modern technology ect. Sometimes they would sing over the prerecorded track and usualy on shows in studio they would mimed on playback - except when they sings in front of the host ... So let me react to this reaction video with 4 videos of "For whom the bells tolls" you wrote there are live performances. Actually there are only two realy live.. In Orlando (with a little background) - 2nd video, and Australia '99 - 4th video. In studio - 3rd video is playback - miming, and first one from New York is addited video! Video/movie was taken from that performance but not audio! You can see from 3:50 min (better seen from 4:00min) that video repete. Over this edited video, a person who did that, pasted studio (long) version of the song. You can see on part where Robin sings that audio is not in time with video. There are a few versions of the video from NY made by some fans. [You can make one like this on your phone with various applications. (I can send you mine.) 😉] The original live video version was played on UK Singles Chart Show in 1993. They went by satellite from US where Robin and Barry sings live with a little prerecorded vocals, and backingtrack. I’m beyond annoyed and exasperated, to see how poorly (for not saying ‘’ NOT AT ALL ‘’) How Maurice is ignored or even haven’t a close up in those vids..! Especially on the 2 nd vid…! I have heard that this is the true Otis Redding song, who died December 1967 just 3 months after the demo.
