My hubby would've ate the raisins from the pantry long before I had the chance to bake them in anything lol Don't we get so much enjoyment from seeing our loved ones eat our home cooked food? Making my loved ones happy makes me happy!

Howard actually heard me say raisins. But then he couldn't find any. Lol Halfway through his bread pudding he said what are those little Berry like things in there. I said they're golden raisins he said they're very plump they're like little blueberries L oblueberries lol I think I found the reason he likes

When I had my Italian grocery store and deli, I used to make peach bread pudding with sliced almonds and raisins. It was always a big hit. Great, now I'm hungry for bread pudding. Wonder why lol!! only thing about covering the crock pot? is the steam needs to escape mine has a steam vent on mine. so Just wanted to mention that ? Another great meal and dessert. Just wanted to suggest you put some drops of peppermint oil in water in a spray bottle to get rid of the mice. Some dollar stores even sell it. They hate the smell of peppermint. Spray under sink and any entrance areas. Hope it helps. 😊💌

Looks delicious ... I was talking to the farmer I get my beef, pork, and whole chickens from today and asked if they have seen deer carrots anywhere and they said no ... So I guess no one in my area has them this year so they definitely confirmed it for me that I need to get some from the grocery store if I find any sales so I won't be canning any this year.

Look in your local grocery store. Something like Winco (West coast USA) or farmers market. Ask for juicing carrots. I found 25# bags at Winco. It's always "assumed" it for horses or juice. I use these for annual canning.

@@cindygreen6900 I live in such a small town ... The only grocery stores we have is a price chopper, a Wal-Mart, and an Aldi ... None of them sell any kind of bulk produce ... I have a Sam's Club about 60 miles away but I don't think they would carry that large of bulk but maybe ... Thanks for the tip ☺

Pretty amazing how much the carrots reduce in size when dehydrated. For potatoes I was always taught to put salt in the water. I’ll have to try the lemon juice.

I’m with Howie about the raisins.😉I use currents. Love that Gracie got her dessert as well. I have been telling my kids (all adults) that this is the type of food I was raised on. I raised them with very similar style cooking (no sugar and gluten free as we are celiac). As the cost of living has increased exponentially, they are very glad to be able to stretch the dollar and still produce flavourful meals for their families. Cooking wholesome, satiating food is a skill that many will thankful they have or wishing to learn. Thanks Bev for sharing.

It's quite simple and delicious. If you think about it it's actually nutritious because you have bread eggs milk milk and fruit on very little sugar if you don't add the sugar topping
