EAS Master Beekeeper is to me on the same level as ham radios Extra class license. Or a Master Gardener. All take many hours of learning the particular programs. Each require continuous learning to be on top of your program. I believe it is definitely worth it! I've learned so much from you guys.

I’ve been an extra for over 25 years and I agree. I just don’t know if I have the energy to become an EAS Master Beekeeper. The knowledge is nice though.

If anyone gives you a hard time because you had the gumption to study and work to become a certified master beekeeper I would say they are jealous, petty, and seriously unhappy with their own lives. They are not worth fretting over. You have every right to be justly proud and you have never come across as a pompous know-it-all. We know that you share your knowledge in order to help people like us---very new beekeepers! Thank you! ~Adam and Mary in NH

I'm glad you are a master beekeeper I have no one to learn from 2 first beehives absconded second 2 died in winter because I put 100 watt wall heater next to give and they starve to death. So I'm hoping with my third set of bees I can get through the winter with all your help thank you David this is Santa tracker from Michigan

I’ve noticed that negative feelings towards those of us who strive for ‘master’ status tends to be fleeting. Especially when you explain you’re committed to future continuing education and community volunteering to maintain your status.

Certified Journeyman with Washington State Beekeepers Assoc WASBA. They are rewriting their Masters cert. Program in conjunction with WSU. The new program is slated in June of 2024,,,, The wait is killing me! Starting on research paper and lots of reading!

David, I appreciate the video! I just started this hobby in my early 40s. My only regret so far is not starting sooner! I’m very interested in this certification, but feel I need to study hard and get my bees through a few winters before I even bother. Do you agree that the hands on experience and support from local beekeepers prepared you better than any book can?
@paulschaefer5241 Жыл бұрын
You make a avery valuable point about the attitude of so many. I am undecided at this point if I will go for my master certification. I have some time to go before I even have the option. but I have met too many masters who seem to think they know everything and don't even want to talk about any science that's newer than about 1990.

David, Over the summer I captured 6 Swarms. Unfortunately here in Oregon we are in a severe drought thus no Nectar. I have beed feeding them 1-1 sugar @ 2-gallon per week. I did a inspection today and numbers are good but they are lite in weight. I an switching to 2-1 sugar. Now My Question is should I feed Fondant as well to build them up ?? or is sugar syrup better? I have 6 weeks of summer left?

David, I recently have discovered your channel and have enjoyed the bee knowledge and content you share with us all. You mentioned about links for additional information about the EAS Master BeeKeepers program. I didn’t see the links in the content; could you provide that info for us please?

I am interested in your opinion on horizontal hives? Are they as good as vertical halves? Is there any potential downfalls?
@beek2 жыл бұрын
There is a few minor practical differences but largely personal preference. Try both and decide yourself would be best.
