Just got my Shield last week, thank you so much for the advice.... hands down the BEST android tv box.

I was caught a bit off guard with the lagging connection issue surrounding the logitech wireless KB and mouse I am using. About 2 minutes of research yielded the USB 3.0 interference issues with wireless devices being plugged in within close proximity to any 3.0 device. I have a 128gb flash drive right next to the Logitech dongle so I went ahead and started using 3ft a USB extension for the dongle, problem solved! Aside from the 3.0 interference issue, I have no other complaints. Awesome device!

@@batmangovno Shield can be beat, i tested a Shield pro against 5 other boxes, unless your a big gamer an just stream, the shield is overpriced and not needed, this guy getting kickbacks for pushing the shield.

@@SomeOrangeCat It is most certainly a case of "You get what you pay for" $159 isn't a bunch of money for a device that is constantly supported with software updates, packs a killer GPU, and has a legit Android TV install that actually works. I've owned a few of the cheaper s905 boxes and they were, honestly, crap.

I've just replaced 2 Raspberry Pi 3 running Libreelec with 2 of these Minis. The performance increase is amazing. They run Kodi extremely well and the WiFi performance is outstanding. I also run IPTV. For the price I'm very happy. There's just no way I could afford 2 Shield's (or even 1) so this is the compromise that works for me :)

Beelink x45 is fantastic like latte panda, intel celeron j4105 4 core 2.6ghz 4gb ddr4 memory, 128gb SSD with windows 10 installed £135 AliExpress , 4k is better than nvidia shield , I think this is a great value little bundle, lovely little beelink, a real micro pc, a great value buy.

Hi ETA, Every s905x2 box I've researched is running 32 bit Android on a 64 bit SoC (no support for armv8 abi) , any idea why?

An idea: could you please test the Android Steam Link app's compatibility with these devices in the future? I have the Xiaomi Mi Box 3, but Steam Link drops frames badly on it, it's really disappointing :( Checking the stats it's definitely not the network, the device can't keep up for some reason. It's the same story with Moonlight (the unofficial Nvidia Shield streaming client). In the end I'm going to buy the Shield TV once it gets a decent discount again, but still. It would be nice to know which device can keep up with it.

I was thinking of ways you could improve the quality of your videos of the next year or 2, and you probably need to change the format of them before that. But then you probably turn into jayz2cents for bitwit, I don't want you to turn into those standard teck review channels. But that doesn't change the fact that you won't be able to compete at the level your at now, so at some point you're going to need to decide if your subscriptions level out at 500k-1m or 5 million +

KZbin isn’t my main job like the others you mentioned, The small niche I’m in won’t net me 1 million subscribers, I started the Channel for fun and I’m still having fun with it now. I seriously don’t have time to put in hours into editing with a full time job and 3 kids I’m already pushing it with as much content that I put out now.

@@x7slim8x I enjoy them too that's why I watch all of them, it's just he doesn't have the quality of someone who has a million subscribers. I'm not saying the qualities bad just that he does everything himself, and he does have the maximum quality for the video formula now, just I don't think KZbin is going to give him the promotion he needs to get the views to get the subscribers.

@@x7slim8x I've been watching KZbin videos religiously like seriously I have over a hundred hours a week, most weeks and I've kept it up since before phones were good enough to play KZbin videos. A lot of its music and watching podcasts and live streams while I'm doing stuff like playing video games and sleeping. I remember the only way to watch KZbin videos away from your desk was to bring your laptop in bed, and don't forget it gets hot so don't leave it under a blanket. So I have some idea what KZbinrs have to go through because I have been intimately familiar with so many of their lives for so many years.

The GT1 Mini was great while it worked. I had it for 3 weeks! It is now dead. No signal at all, the green power light stays on. I've tried 3 different tv's with different HDMI cords, even bought a new power cord. Dealing with BeeLink's customer service is slow as ever. They have asked me every question they can think of, relevant or not. Then sent me instructions how to update the firmware on a box that will not turn on??!! I think there hoping I will go away, Not happening! Even though I have already paid for this, I will have to pay to ship it somewhere (Registered), so I know it lands in the right place. Just because something has Great Reviews, Does NOT mean they have Great Employees working there when you need something done

I am considering one of these instead of buying a second Nvidia Shield as long as it can stream my iptv sub. Btw there's that freaky 4K bunny again haha.. Edit.. with so many negative reviews on amazon.ca I think nvidea shield is a better option, especially if you expect to have it for a few years.

Avoid Beelink like the F'n Plague. I bought the GS1 a little under a year ago. Beelink doesn't answer their forums. Provides NO support. The only answer you get Email their generic tech support. The hardware is probably fine. The GS1 is almost a RPi 3 by the hardware. But their software suit is nothing but trouble.

Great review and an amazing piece of hardware! Could it be posaible for you to try the Sentio launcher app with all its functions enabled?? I want to use this SBC solely with that launcher and I have just seen some reviews of this gt1 mini failing to run some launchers properly! It would be great if you could check it out for me! I had just contacted with another youtuber that reviewed Tanix Tx5 Max, another box using the same Amlogic S905X2 SoC with 4gb lpddr4 ram and 12nm quad-core cortex a53 running at the same 1800mhz! So same setup pretty much! He confirmed that Sentio launcher worked with that one but there may still be some differences in software between these two boxes!

Will the Nvidia shield stream 8K for that less than 0.5% of people who have an 8K TV? Not there any streaming services have 8k yet, LTT had an 8K camera so once KZbin support it, and I think you can get an upscale box, I'm sure it would be cheaper than an 8K TV.

Hello sir, I have been using this same device for 2-3 years. Nowadays, when you power up the device and turn it on, the date is always delayed and you cannot access the internet. I update the date every time. There is a bios battery in these devices, I have not seen such a video on the net. I wonder if there is a bios battery or do you have a solution to prevent the date from falling behind? Thank you from now.

Hey ETA! Did you notice any wonkiness with your latest Nvidia shield update? 7.2.2 I think... my remote and game controllers are haywire now and unusable... I have tried total system restore still the same thing... the cursor jumps as if its on rapid fire using the remote or game controller or any other brand controller...

So got myself one of these from eBay a few weeks ago and have installed almost 128gb of retro games using Reset Collection front end with Retroarch and some stand alone emulators. Only problem I'm having is connecting a PS4 controller via Bluetooth, running Android 8, I can see the controller when searching for Bluetooth devices but can't connect for some reason. Have rest the controller etc but nothing works. Can anyone help? Is it an android version compatibility issue? Thanks

Hi. Wondering if you can help me with a retropie problem. Just loaded the latest pipiggies kitchen sink build on a 256gb card. It said i had 6gb free. Now it says memory full. Expand doesn't seem to do anything. I can't work it out :(

No widevine support on the N2 either, other than that it's great. I have one of the preproduction models and Android Pie has a lot of issues to be worked out. It's a great device though, just will take some time for the software to get there.

can the shield tone map hdr 4k mkv rips if i am playing them on a 1080p tv, the s905x2 can and i was going to buy one of them boxes for that, i would buy the shield but i do not know if it has that feature, i am using media player classic and madvr right now which does it but i want to get a dedicated box so that i dont need to keep using my pc for it. i dont want to get a shield and have a lot of my rips washed out if it cant tone mape them to my 1080p display

Something I'd love to see tested on one of these boxes are pinball games like Zen Pinball and Pinball Arcade, with a screen rotation app like Rotation Control. I've made somewhat of a virtual pinball table for my kid and I that I'm fairly pleased with but it's running Windows 10 with Steam on an old Athlon ii x2 260 chip. It's just bigger and more complicated than I'd like. I'd really love to replace that machine with a a simple Android TV box that runs the game one boot. I'd obviously love the Shield but as a stay at home dad I just can't justify it in the budget so I'm looking for the absolute cheapest option. @@croixtucker1757 xu4 mini? There is only one odroid xu4. It comes either with an active fan or a passive heat sink. It costs 51 dollars at ameridroid. It plays dreamcast, n64, psp great plus atomiswave AMD naomi. No gamecube though.

Just get a converter. Could also try a cheap pc monitor to replace the van tv, depending on use case.
