Beer Rinse for Revitalized Curls: Does it work?

It's said that soaking your hair in beer has nourishing benefits. It's said to revive your curls, reverse heat damage, add shine, softness, bounce and elasticity. I've never been a fan of beer so instead of letting the waste, why not use it on my hair?
In this rinse, I used non-alcoholic beer O'Douls that I got from our local grocery store but I've heard you can also get it at Walmart. Remember to rinse the beer completely out of your hair when you are done washing to avoid smelling like a pub!

Conditioner is used before beer rinse. There is no need to use it after on account of smell, because smell will air out. The point of the beer is to define curls and it does it amazingly. It makes them shiny and creates a sort of wet look on hem. Also be careful not to use conditioner with silicones as it will prevent beer do it's job on the hair, that is, it won't be able to provide nutrition. It will just curl it. Extremely dry and damaged hair might feel sticky and hardened after beer. Beer is worth trying as it is natural and beneficial for hair. It has been used for that purpose throughout history. People just need to find the best way to handle their hair and how to rinse it with beer properly and it will work wonders. You don't have to buy non alcoholic beer. Just let the alcoholic one open in the fridge for 5-6 days till alcohol evaporates.

My mother used beer as a styling product when she set her hair in curlers. I remember her doing that my entire childhood. She has really fine, stick straight hair, and she swears that it gave her more fullness and body. I'm a soap maker and use beer in my soaps because of the benefits in hops.

I have 3b low porosity hair. I m using camille r. cleanser, kinky knot today or jessie curl deep konditioner. After that I use any alchol beer, that have been opened for a week. Just dip whole hair and head also (in bowl) and I DONT RINSE IT. Smell doesnt stay, maybe few hours only. After that I put camille cury maker. I have definitions, no frizz and volume for 7 days.

U can try and put beer after conditioner and rinse it but not completely. When it's my hair, that works the best and holds better. Don't worry about the smell it goes away after 5 minutes.

I have 4c type hair and I do beer rinses regularly but instead I use cold beer and let it sit 1hour to overnight. I get very good results and can't wait to see what happens since i henna(ed) my hair about 2-3weeks ago

My hair is super damaged for dying my hair too much,i no longer have curls only in my roots since is growing.I dyed my hair dark burgundy but my ends are in a light color..I will dye my hair black and I'm no longer using flat iron to straighten my hair,i want know if i can dye my hair black and beer rinse a day after? Si me quieres preguntar en español, no hay problema! Aunque mi grammatical no es perfecto, yo te entiendo! Si sientes que tu cabello te queda demasiado seco, porque no trates de aplicarte un acondicionador profundo una vez a la semana. esto lo va a ayudar a hidratar tu cabello. tambien puede ser que esta dañado o seco por pintartelo mucho. If you stop straightening and dying it, it will definitely give your hair a break, and your curls will come back at a healthier rate.
