To download an mp3 file of the accompaniment, go to www.steveparkhornmusic.net. This piece is great for working on middle and low register playing. You need a great accompanist. If you want an mp3 of my accompaniment, let me know. Subscribe! I will be adding more solos on a regular basis. I teach horn at a University and my goal is to create a video library of some of the best horn solos for my students and others. Also let me know if there is something you would like me to record.

Well, this was the piece that helped Beethoven's career as a composer... And none other than the famous Giovanni Punto a.k.a. Jaclav Wenzel Stich was the horn player for which this sonata was written for....... Horn players are ALL sent from God !!!!!!!!!! Steve, you are an awesome player !!!!! And you use the Conn 8D VERY well (I am a Rauch man personally now)

I really enjoy your videos! It makes me very happy that you don't use the Bb side for runs just because they are easier on Bb, and you dont disregard the F side! Are you playing a 300,000 series 8D? or a pre-letter?

@TheMusicmanMB No. The end of the second movement says "attacca subito il Rondo" meaning play on to the 3rd movement. So those two have to be in that order...lmao Although I do not agree that the order means nothing, because the Rondo (3rd movement) is a variation of the original theme, and this movement is guiding into them. Anyway! I was asking for recordings of them, and your reply pretty much had no relevancy with the context of my question. Also which do you think is harder? 1 or 2+3?

@TheMusicmanMB Sorry, didn't mean to sound snarky! I don't even remember writing this comment! And you're right, it doesn't really make a difference, but for the sake of the argument I think it's similar to some of Mozart's sonatas for piano and violin, where he placed the piano in a more prominent position over the violin. I'm probably wrong, but it's still an interesting conversation! You sound great regardless!

@TheMusicmanMB Furthermore, the 2nd movement is like...30-40 measures at the most...it's not very long lmao xD It's basically a segue into the 3rd movement...Although I guess it's very possible that you could play the 2nd, 3rd than 1st.

Hello, first your playing is amazing. I watch your videos a lot and I just wanted to ask you a question or two. 1)What type of horn do you have? 2)I am doing this for my NYSSMA solo, i am going All State and i am a freshman in highschool. Last year i did area all state. Anyway i was wondering what you would recommend for the last part of part 1 with all of the 16th notes. do you think i should just practice slowly and work my way up?

I am a trumpet player. Because my insrumtent is a Bb Instrument, C sounds like Bb. So Does F sound like Bb on Horn?
@caustic5276

Austin Stolz yes
@caustic5276
@caustic5276 6 жыл бұрын
But a better way to think of it is that trumpet is in Bb, so when you play a C on a trumpet (or the fundamental note of the instrument) you’re playing a Bb. But when you play a C on a horn, you’re playing an F.

Lovely horn playing, but I have a couple of comments (nothing to do with the playing itself): a) a sonata is for two equal partners - why not a single view of the pianist?, and b) it sounds as if the piano is an early one - so why a valve horn? Surely a natural one should have been used...
@ohsteacher
@ohsteacher 9 жыл бұрын
The piano is actually a midi accompaniment, which is why I don't show the pianist. All of the accompaniments on my channel are midi. If you want to download an accompaniment just go to steveparkhornmusic.net Thanks for watching!
