Tim Burton doubts a third movie will happen considering how long it took to make this one. There was a 35-year gap between the sequel and the original. In another 35 years, Tim and Michael Keaton will both be over 100 years old...and likely dead by then.

In this sequel film, Beetlejuice looks older, has thicker hair, reshaped green mold, and his tie lacks the buttons. His suit has a bigger lapel, additional button and breast pocket, wider stripes, and he also wears therapist attire, updated wedding garb, an immigration officer uniform and a matador ensemble. His creepy inner child also appears, and his co-worker Bob does a pretty great impression of him. In flashbacks, he's seen as a living-breathing regular-joe grave robber, who is deathly poisoned by his new bride (Delores), but he manages to give her the axe. This film finds Beetlejuice teaming up with Lydia to save her daughter, all the while trying to avoid the un-living company from his past.

1:37 Tim Burton should do a music video of Beetlejuice lip synching Right Here Waiting, serenading Lydia and following her around throughout the Maitland House, the Afterlife, the Winter River town model, even the Saturn desert while being chased by sand worms, all while doing his usual antics much to her annoyance. Other characters like Astrid, her dead dad and Lydia’s late husband Richard, Delia, a headless Charles, Jeremy, Delores, the janitor played by Danny DeVito, Jack Wolf, and as an added bonus the Maitlands (but with their stretched out faces) all make appearance throughout the music video.

According to some of the comments about the possibility of making a Beetlejuice 3, I’m a bit mixed. First, I think it might work cause that’ll complete the trilogy surrounding Lydia’s story of one Spector haunting her, as he tries to get his hands on her for love and so on. And second, the first one was released 36 years ago and in an interview with Tim Burton when he was asked about the possibility of making a third film, he said that he doubts it and I seem to agree. Movies really take a long time, especially pitching it to executives and even if it’s taking a long while developing the story. And besides filmmakers today don’t have that much creative freedom to do because of budget constraints and they don’t seem to simplifying the adequacy to the storytelling medium anymore, and that’s why with stuff like Furiosa, The Fall Guy, Horizon: An American Saga, and I think Joker: Folie a Deux being flops, it’s just hard to describe it. So, I’m very mixed whether or not that it might be a possibility to do a third film. But as Mr. Burton is getting older, I could see it wouldn’t happen. But never say never!
