I am simply pointing out how the movie (and the Maitlands) do a good job at telling Lydia (the living) that death is much more confusing than life. I wish they could have been in the sequel but it just didn't seem possible. It would have been nice though if the Maitlands were remembered with a photo or two on a wall, or a mantel.
