Before the movie started, my cinema brought out a young choir to sing ‘day o’ just like they did in the funeral scene in the movie!! Such a fun idea and it made me love the movie even more

I’m right there with you. I’ve never been a fan of the original, as a kid it was too weird and I never got it. Rewatched it last year when they re released it in Dolby and really quite liked it, but it wasn’t like a “great” movie or anything, it was fine, pacing was a bit off but it had some fun moments and Keaton was the standout. But this new one I expected it to be about as good as the first one at best and much to my surprise I actually walked out liking it even more. It’s not without its flaws but it was the most fun I’ve had in a Tim Burton movie in a LONG time and I’m already going back to the theater to rewatch it today because I just had such a great time

I hate most legacy sequels and I don't even like supporting them in theaters but I'm going to break my rules with this one. I love the first, big Keaton fan and Tim Burton had an amazing run of movies in the 80's, 90's and even early 00's. I think people have been too hard on Burton, he did Miss Peregrine in 2016 and Big Eyes in 2014. Both were pretty good. His only really bad movies in my view were Charlie, Alice in Wonderland and Dark Shadows.

I think they used claymation to show Charles Deetz's whereabouts since they were not going to put Jeffrey Jones in the movie.

This movie was watchable I liked the first better but I wasn't disappointed I've seen much much worse. I respect your view of the film hopefully they don't make any more beetle juice films.

I thought the movie was pretty good up until the ending scene. That whole segment just fell flat and really with the boyfriend for Jenna Ortega‘s character I thought the way that all played out was kind of anti-climatic

Maybe it’s because I saw this movie when I was six or seven, but I don’t think this touches the original at all. Beetlejuice had some clever one liners, but there wasn’t one laugh out loud moment for me. I enjoyed the lip syncing and the Original. The ending felt very unoriginal. I wasn’t impressed that I didn’t see one rider as her character in Stranger Things. At moments I forgot about Stranger Things I thought all the people from the original cast did a pretty good job. There are scenes in the original where I don’t like them that much or I check out a little bit but overall I just enjoy that movie. This one was OK. Probably not something I’d watch again

Just got home from seeing Beetlejuice 2 and…it was not quite as good as the original film. So, it feels like the writer is recycling the plot from the first film. 5/10
