This movie is so special, even today feel so different from other ghost and afterlife movies. Also, it is so funny how everything about Beetlejuice makes the collective people think Beetlejuice was the good guy XD Recently, I showed this movie to some friends, and they were shocked to know that Beetlejuice was the final antagonist.
@Androsynth752 ай бұрын
I think it's due to what I call the 'Dolores Umbridge factor'. Beetlejuice is kind of a giant asshole, but he's fun, funny and unique, nobody knows a Beetlejuice. But smarmy, arrogant, entitled, self absorbed, condescending douchebags like the family that moves in? Those are villains we can relate to, like Umbridge, because we've all dealt with them. We all loathe them. We forgive the ghost because who hasn't wanted to ruin a Karen's day ten times over?

I mean, yeah the wedding's creepy, but Winona dated Charlie Sheen (or perhaps the other way around) when she was 14 he was 21, and lost her virginity to Johnny Depp, who then proposed, when she was 17 and he was 26, so maybe we should have been paying more attention to the real world.

In the musical it’s better. The wedding was kind of Lydia’s idea. She marries him and brings him to life long enough to understand that the modern man doesn’t know how to deal with his emotions, and then she stabs him back to dead. Yeah they killed someone, but they did it together and that’s really the important thing.
