The most underrated Omega imo. While I enjoyed my SMP 2531, the new ones look too shiny and toy like sometimes. This SM300 is a real winner. No nonsense here on this dial. Super clean!

My only complaint of the previous SM300MC is the bezel. While gorgeous, ceramic and Liquid Metal, it turns too easily and the sound is chintzy. Great shot of the new model's bezel action, thank you sir!

Nice review, I become fond of the style and like the sandwiched face and the unusual font of the markers. Wearing my Rado True automatic today. Matches my wife’s and we are doing a lot together today. I like the metal ceramic, wish Rado had a better US presence, but nice to wear something unusual.

Nice review. Lot of subtle changes making this top choice for retro vibe diver. Just one minor correction. Numbers and indices are not recessed. They are painted on the second plate making this a sandwich type of dial.

I personally have always loved these Heritage Seamasters. However I do think the reason they're "slept on" is because it's really just not a great value versus the other options in Omega's Seamaster collection. The Seamaster Professional 2018 is an overall better watch for the money and has many more options, and it's still a stunning piece while being a much more functional tool watch. All of this for a *wait for it* $1300 price difference. $1600 if you go with the rubber strap reference which I actually prefer on mine after buying both. Buy this heritage Seamaster if you love the vintage look and need to have this particular style and dont mind spending the extra money, but if you want one of, if not THE best watch dollar for dollar on the market, stick with the Professional.

Dig that style retro. Curious how the width differs from Omega's specs. I personally prefer the new Railmaster hands and dial -- just wish it had a sapphire caseback. I understand the solid back is a nod to the original needing it to achieve 1,000 gauss of antimagnetism. But now with an inherently 15,000 gauss-rated movement, we could see the Railmaster movement without compromise. Do you know if an Aqua Terra caseback can fit on a Railmaster? They're 1mm different case width on paper but both have the Naiad lock, which I’m guessing Omega has standardized across their line.

Omega says that the watch is a 41mm, and when I measured it, it was actually a 40mm! I doubt that the caseback is interchangeable, and the price to find out would make it very difficult lol.

I own both of these models…seamaster 300 does NOT have naiad locking case back. It is not needed due to sapphire case back and only writing around exterior. There is no right side up! I love both but the seamaster 300 just feels more special. The bezel is actually slightly wider than the case hence the 41mm size designation. The beautiful tapered bracelet and clasp is night and day better than the railmaster. The see through case back is definitely a bonus. I do love the full brushed look of the railmaster and that watch is even more comfortable on the wrist due to slimmer profile although both wear like a dream! They are both excellent watches and both fly under the radar for what you get! Buy either!

Omega is measuring the bezel instead of the case which protrudes over the case. I always measure the case itself because and not bezels or crown protectors.

While Rolex switched from aluminum bezel to ceramic, Omega went the opposite. I just literally bought the older version with ceramic bezel today. I like the newer 8912 internals, but I’m OCD with scratches and the aluminum bezel is prone to that and fading.. Should I exchange mine to the newer version?

Hi, so aluminum is the only way that Omega could get the look that they were going for with this bezel in particular, but this is oxalic anodized so it has a very hard coating overtop of the aluminum. They still use ceramic on other models for a shinier look. I wouldn't exchange yours based on the bezel alone. I would look at the other features and updates and see if that outweighs to bezel difference.

Love the Seamaster 300, for me the best looking Seamaster 300 is the 2018 model with the wave dial and skeleton hands (the black one especially is a beautiful looking watch). This 2021 is not as good looking, not liking the vintage look with darker indicators.

After i was expecting this watch to get and after i took it in my hands, i decided to go for the previous model. More serious watch, with a ceramic bezel instead of aluminium, a better bracelet. I dont like the lollipop there. It doesn't much with the design. Anyway this is my personal opinion..
