Naveen, at 31:50, you could have used an executive action to take the blue robot body, and placed it with the bonus action, sneaking the blue bot away from Monique.

I'm certain at the start of the game, Sandra's starting spot is her "move" then her action is passing. You cleared the board of projects which means you just finished the first round. Now starting the second round, Sandra's first real move and action is to the Assembly board, not the third round as you guys did. You might have got the procedure list mixed up. In the end, Sandra did nothing for two rounds.

Thank you so much for this review! I was interested in Kanban EV, and while I'm not intimidated by the weight, I felt like I would never be able to table it with anyone. I opted to go for Bot Factory, as it looks so fun and much more accessible. If we end up loving it, we can always level up with Kanban EV later on.

My Kickstarter for Bot Factory just showed up, and I am looking forward to playing it. Thank you for the great teach and playthrough. This looks like a lot of fun! This would be my first Vital Lacerda game, but I've always been intrigued by KanBan EV, and also Vinhos.

I backed Weather Machine and so got an email letting me know about this Kickstarter, and I thought "Oh cool, Lacerda, let's see what Before You Play has to say about it." But there wasn't a playthrough yet! I was shocked! Glad to have it finally out. 😊 I might consider this one for some family! They have a 12-year-old and love board games, and this seems better suited for inter-generational play than Kanban.

Around 36:00 Sandra fills in two spots in the yellow. I believe those should have been filled in by Naveen after he rotated the wheel last.

It was already getting a bit late, so the plan was to only watch the first 20 minutes and keep the rest for tomorrow. I ended up watching it completely because I had to know who was going to win and how. You two always do such a great job making your videos both informative and fun to watch!

49:04 why did Naveen discard two blueprints and not take the universal part? i think you are required to take it if you did the executive action?

At the start of the game, in her first action Monique placed 2 parts when she started with only one. I think only in that department you get the bonus after all your actions in that department according to the rulebook. Hence Monique could not have placed the second part.

Hi Mihir! Hope you've been well!! We confirmed with Vital Lacerda because the rule was a little unclear in the rulebook, and he said you get those bonuses immediately. It was designed that way so that you can chain your moves. It sounds like they'll be clarifying this in the final rulebook. Thank you!

@@BeforeYouPlay yes, that is why I found your channel initially. I backed Weather Machine and your playtrhough and Paul Grogan’s tutorial helped so much. Since then I’ve been magnetized by Vital’s designs and currently owned two of em (Lisboa and On Mars) and this one was like in the background. Not sure if there are other playthrough/tutorials that went out there for Bot Factory but you guys were the first one IMO to released a full playthrough of this, albeit a proto-type. Anyways glad I’m SUPER interested to buy this smaller Kanban-esque mini release as I am convinced by this video but FIRST…I have to buy Kanban EV first 😅. Love the two of you guys, keep it going! ❤️

This game looks wonderful. I'll have Kanban EV for my heavy group and then this for my mid-weight group. I do have a question, though: is there a way to designate which player has placed parts on the board, so others don't accidentally build on the assembly line the original player started, or is it fairly easy to remember who placed the parts first?

No, the game encourages you to continue the robots that other people have started. Once you place a robot part, it doesn't matter much who it had originally belonged to. That's neat that you have different gaming groups that have different gaming weight preferences!

You don't own the assembly line - the game encourages you to be mean and finish someone else's robot to get the credit.

@@bryanbrammer4353 Yup! They played very aggressively/smartly so that one of them could not jump in and finish their bot. I played this 2P yesterday for the first time since I playtested on it and my friend and I were doing the same as Naveen and Monique, making sure not to give each other the opportunity to complete each other's bots. During playtesting I can tell you there were moments when someone would jump in and "steal" someone's bot. Lots of groaning and some friendly laughter would ensue. :)

Love your videos but Moniques explanation in this teach was talking much too fast. I had to slow it to 80% but then it sounds odd so not ideal. I understand you don't want to spend too long on the rules, but here I had to either repeatedly pause every few seconds to allow my brain to compute it, or slow it down and neither are ideal. Just thought I'd mention as I've noticed on other more recent videos that she explains games faster now, as great as she is at doing the explanations :)

Go with me on this one... does anyone else enjoy the subtly dark/capitalist overtones here? The game would have you think spending "speech tokens" to improve the workers' efficiency is some light hearted fare, when in reality you know that represents the bosses telling the workers they'll get fired unless they work harder. there should be a side mechanic where the workers have to keep their family life from falling apart after doing so much overtime i LOVE the presentation though... reminds me of 90s clicky games like rollercoaster tycoon

The visuals are such a turn off and being into heavier games I’m not sure why I would play this over Kanban. It doesn’t look like a game that will be talked about or thought about much a year after its release. The look also will make sure it won’t fly off the shelves
