I believe there was a mistake made at 19:19, when placing multiple blue tiles as part of one single action. After placing the first blue tile, for any subsequent blue tiles (as part of the same action), they MUST be placed adjacent to the previous tile.

Yup, it says so on page 4 of the rules

A few weeks ago, Hubby and I visited a game store and decided to take a chance on one of their $50 mystery bags as a special treat. There were 4 or 5 games, including an Unlock 3-pack we hadn't tried yet, other games we're not interested in based on reviews, and a frankly boring-looking big square box with a little red stamp and the word "Huang" underneath. I'd heard of T&E and Y&Y, but I had no idea there was a follow-up. I'd even been telling Hubby that I wish more games had interesting scoring conditions like Beer and Bread, which is also based off the lowest scoring category! We haven't had a good chance to sit down to learn and play, but we're both really excited after learning more about it, and definitely looking forward to another mystery bag next time we hit up that game store! Thanks for the video!

This is my favorite game of all time, well Y&Y was, now Huang. Thank you so much for teaching and playing with all the correct rules and scoring. It’s tricky at first but now that you’ve shown the proper way more people will understand this great game. Usually 3p is the best player count for a good amount of wars/riots/revolts but you two managed to have plenty in a 2p game. Great job! I’ve seen a game won with a final score of 4 because there was so much conflict. Amazing!

We were not expecting for this one to be so confrontational so early. The dynamic at 3 definitely keeps you on your toes.

Surprisingly strong narrative for such an abstract game.

I feel like this is one of the more difficult Knizia games to breakdown for teaching. I always struggle with it. It’s so abstract and there’s no satisfying way to structure it, you kinda just have to explain each rule like a bullet point.

Definitely needs a D.E.N.N.I.S like system 🤣

This video should be retitled to "Huang: The Battle for the White Pagoda." 😆 Really fun playthrough! I wonder how chaotic this would be at three or four players...

Love your playthroughs! Noticed that you recently have not being doing as many reviews - is that going away? I really enjoy hearing your personal perspectives on the games. Your Uwe series is my fav and I’ve referenced all your playthrough and reviews of them multiple times.

Oh good grief, another RK. You guys are dangerous to my boardgame budget. I already own both Tigris & Euphrates and Yellow & Yangtze. Thanks for highlighting what looks like another great game.

Sorry Naveen, I don't think 19:18 is a legal move. The rules state that any subsequent blue tiles need to be adjacent to the previously played blue tile. My correction aside, this is a great video! One of the most elegant rules teaches I've seen from this game series. You made it look easy! Excited to get my hands on a copy.

What a brutal game. I played enough Tigris and Euphrates "back in the day" that I dont see the need or have the desire to play this...well not much anyway. What a great play through. In the first 20 minutes or so it looked like Monique was going to run away with it...but Naveen wrestled control back of control of the big region and held most of while the white pagoda held the focus for much of the rest of the game. In the end, I was surprised how little of the board was utilized.

I have Yellow and Yangtze and it's a top game of mine. Kinda surprised to see this game on your channel, just because it's more of an OG style game that modern board gamers don't typically like much. I do wish these games wouldn't change names though. What if someone said, "Sorry, it's not called chess anymore." Anyway, great video.

T&E is a 10/10 for me, this might be a fantastic alternative. And I think Huang MIGHT be better with 2.

Great game. Some people say it extremely abstract. Others say it’s dripping with the theme and feeling of shifting states. And both groups are right

This game is tricky for me. "Tigris and Euphrates" is one of my favorite games of all time... in T&E and Y&Y black works as yellow and yellow is wild, so it works like white here... so this one feels so unintuitive for me (I have to actually remember that there is no black but yellow is black and white is wild instead of yellow 🤣). That said, it's a great game, but I will stick to T&E 😅 What I love the most about these games is that by scoring your lowest score it naturally pushed players into confict, which I think is brilliant
