This by far is one of the best step by step videos I’ve seen. Thanks for breaking down the dos and don’t and how to prevent injuries from occurring. I was able to get the second yoga pose the first try and I’m a beginner.

It was beautiful!!!! I could only do crow pose in arm balancing and I thought that was the only arm balancing pose for a beginner, rest seemed so difficult. But with this video I was able to do elephant and almost 8 angle pose. And I am growing in headstand as well. This was so helpful, as I was following your steps, everything seemed possible and easy❤I want a part 2 of this!!

This is awesome! First time I’ve been able to get air in my crow pose. Thank you! I was a little surprised about the number of mid-roll ads. I had to stop in the middle of my balances to skip the ads, which I found irritating. Super helpful video though.

Ugh stupid ads!! That's KZbin unfortunately...not me. I'm sorry though!! I am super pumped you got some air time!! Congratulations!!

For anyone else struggling to get into the head in the hands handstand variation, you might need to jump into the move a little bit due to lack of flexibility rather than lack of core strength. I personally find the tripod headstand much easier to get into.

Truly excellent, Kells. My focus is calisthenics -- basically a cali athlete -- and not yoga specifically. I can already hold Crow, but wanted to improve my form & technique. Subscribed to you the moment you referenced Kakasana as different from Bakasana. I admit I get a little annoyed when yoga "experts" get that wrong. 😉

I can get into the positions to start, but have a lot of trouble with my knees sliding down my arms in crow and baby crow etc… guessing I need more lower core strength but do you have any insights on that aspect (how to keep the knees where they need to be?) maybe I need to just practice more!
@anjalidass7448 Жыл бұрын
Such an excellent video! Thank you. I have a question with the positioning of the knees for the crow position.....I have strength in my arms but i feel like my knees pinch the flesh under my arms....which is more painful than holding the weight up. I would greatly appreciate any advice with this so I can get my crow in the correct position. Thanks much!
@kelsyogi Жыл бұрын
I hear you!! It doesn't hurt the arms. For a while... But my best advice is to stay consistent. The arms will toughen up! But also, as the core gets stronger you will put less pressure on the arms. So really focus pulling the belly in & rounding the upper back.
@manelirouzkhash874013 күн бұрын
Thanks a lot for your helpful input :) Is it normal when the back of our arms (close to armpits) start hurting while holding the pose? I guess it's because of the friction of kness against them.
@kelsyogi13 күн бұрын
@@manelirouzkhash8740 yes, it's normal . I assume you mean in crow or baby crow. With time, you'll build the tricep strength & it won't be so uncomfortable.

i feel my triceps hurting when resting my knees on them in bakasana😢 thats the main reason i cant stay on the pose for too long. any tips?
@kelsyogi5 ай бұрын
What if your knees are higher....almost to the armpit? That should take the pressure off the tricep more.
@edgarsacadura75333 жыл бұрын
Question, I've seen the crow being made with the knees closer to the armpits and closer to the elbows, is it one better than the other or just variations?
@kelsyogi3 жыл бұрын
You know....I've seen both ways also. My teacher has always told me to climb the knees as high as possible on the triceps. To me, that feels more strong & balanced! But try both & see what you like best! 🙌

great video! just a question - the thing preventing me from balancing is the pain in my triceps from the pressure of my knees. How do I help this or is it just practice?
@miriamann87982 жыл бұрын
the pain may be coming from your triceps not being able to handle the pressure due to inexperience, i couldnt do crow when i first tried it out simply bc i was like “owie” all the time lol, what helped me out was lowering my knees closer to my elbows, and as i progressed, move the knees up to sit directly on the triceps, so you can slowly ease yourself into it. also make sure youre leaning forward a lot! it takes some pressure off of the muscle, and really puts your shoulders to work, you got this!!
@kelsyogi2 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does take some getting used to. And the more you work it, the easier and quicker you will find the most comfortable spot. I let my triceps roll out of the way to the outer edge of the arm, if that makes sense. Keep working it and engage your core, as that will help take some of the load off the arms.

Continue to work the abs. With a stronger core, you will put less pressure on the arms. But with time, the arms will toughen up too!!

I don't think these are beginner arm balances :D.. I have been doing yoga for a few years and these are not for beginners at all. Otherwise I like the selection :)

I get what you're saying however....arm balances, in general, aren't really "beginner" level. But if you want to start holding your weight in arm balances, you've got to start somewhere :) thanks for watching.
