Thank you for not editing out the part where the tulip outline broke! I think most agree that best teachers are those who are human enough to accept mistakes and accidental boo boos, and proceed to explain a way to fix, avoid, or improve them. I’m going to decorate some Easter cookies, this week. I’m a visual learner, and your tutorial has been awesome! Thank you, again! 💞💜🐣

Many thanks, I’ll be using this as I try piping for this time this coming week and many thanks for going slow. Many experienced pipers are generous with demonstrating their skills but go a little fast and I must admit I have been avoiding having a crack at it.

So beautiful! I struggle so much with proper consistency.
@LittleCookieCo Жыл бұрын
It's the hardest part to get right because there's no exact measurement and even if there was it's hard to get 100% perfect. Getting the right consistency helps a lot, but even if it isn't perfect, it's learning to use the it when it's not exactly what you want and knowing if it's way off to remix it. It comes with practice and it will get better. I still have days where I mess it up, but for the most part it's much easier now than when I started out! Don't give up, you'll get it down before you know it!

Lovely! What kind of piping bags do you use? Also, I usually use piping bottles because I make such a mess w the icing leaking out the bottom of the bags! Lol How do you combat that when you have to put your bags down in between?? Thank you!

What’s the difference between the outline consistency and the flood consistency?
@LittleCookieCoАй бұрын
The outline consistency is thicker (so less water added to the icing) and the flood is thinner (more water added). The outline holds its shape and is grear for outline and details. The flood is loose and tends to smoothe out on its own or with a bit of shaking, it is what makes these cookies have that nice flat and even icing. I have a visual example in this video on royal icing (it's around the middle after I colour it) and I show the difference! kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqmqc3aioNGfhKc
@terrystreby798 Жыл бұрын
Do you allow your outline to dry before flooding?

How do you know when to add to prevent the icing from cratering?
@LittleCookieCo Жыл бұрын
If you think it may crater then better to do it just in case. Once you've a bunch of cookies you sort of get and idea, but if I think it may crater, better to do it!
@barbaraburrows2679 Жыл бұрын
When you have both your piping bags and flood bags out, how do you know which is which? Thanks
@LittleCookieCo Жыл бұрын
My outline bags usually have a lot less icing in them as I don't need as much as I do flood. And after I've used my flood bag a couple times, usually the bag gets a lot flimsier as it's not as full as my outline bag (which stays full for the most part as not much gets used in the beginning). I have however mixed them up from time to time, and I realize as soon as I pipe, but normally I can tell when picking up my bags as the flood bag is a lot squishier.

WHY IS YOUR ICING SPARKELY ? ITS KINDA SHIMMERY MINE AND ALOT OF ROYAL COLORS ARE FLAT, I DONT SEE ANY ONE MIXING IN LUSTER DUST INTO THEIR ROYAL ICING BUT I FEEL LIKE SOME MUST BECAUSE SOME IS SUPER FLAT AND SOME IS SPARKELY LIKE YOURS .
@LittleCookieCo Жыл бұрын
One thing that can make it shiny is to add a bit of corn syrup to your icing and dry the cookies in front of a fan or use a dehydrator (that's what I use) helps as well. Sometimes if you overmix your icing as well, that makes it dry dull. I have my recipe in the description of this video and show how I make it as well kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmbQh36Qo7mkl8U
@donnagreen565 Жыл бұрын
