This is the most useful video I have seen about subtractive synthesis! What a thoughtful set of examples - with extremely helpful explanations and lots of language to help learn the options and techniques of each example. Thank you for making this!

Any reason why would you use that over stock or Surge? Oversampling, different filter design, polyphony?
@OmriCohen-MusicАй бұрын
It's interesting to try the same things with different modules, just to freshen things up a bit. SurgeXT and this collection are quite different, though.

Thanks for this Omri. You've given me all sorts of ideas to try with my hardware Dotcom and I never dreamed of having a virtual one as well 😅 It's great that I can try some modules that I don't have yet, with eight spaces to fill in my current case set up, this will be most useful too. I love the Gate Math for running my Q119 and eurorack sequencers at different rates, especially odd timings. Inspired and going to have a play, thanks 😁

Thanks so much! I hope to explore these modules more in the future. Especially the sequencer and the Gate Math.
@DoomNedwob28 күн бұрын
@OmriCohen-Music I've not fully explored my Gate Math yet, but now I can experiment on my laptop when I'm not at home 😁 It's so much more than divide and multiply with its four programmable outputs, with sequence, random...drum pattern. Have fun.

Omri, I directly downloaded them. Nice fat bass is what I like the most. I have them in Voltage Modular but would love to have the Behringer System 100 Modules in VCV Rack And while I'm on it, the addition of the VM2500 (ARP 2500) to VCV Rack would be great. I like them in the Voltage Modular

Excellent overview, and another nice collection. I'm not sure why the filter bank doesn't have CV inputs in the hardware (I realise the modelling just sticks to hardware features). I can't see it being that useful without the ability to modulate it. Lucky we have Stoermelder in VCV! I've used the same trick with the Bogaudio FFB, sounds great with delay if you put the delay before the FFB, you get a phasey, dubby delay sound. I'll have to see how this compares. 👍

The fixed filter bank (hardware) is based on the Moog 914 from 1966. I remember reading somewhere that it was requested to Moog by Wendy Carlos (I don't remember the source). Back then, making it CV controllable would make the hardware twice as big. The DotCom guys have an expander that outputs the individual outputs which can be passed to VCAs. But in any case, having CV control on each band requires a lot of space and cables.
@VirtualModularАй бұрын
@@Vult-DSP thanks Lenonardo, I wondered if it was something like that. Great job modelling these by the way! Do you think you'll ever add the expander in VCV? Might be useful just to modulate it polyphonically. Cheers!

My Sequential Controller provides pitch value changes ONLY for the first 4 attenuators (1, 2, 3, 4) in -5/+5 mode. What the hell?
@Vult-DSPАй бұрын
make sure you are using the correct output and that the sequence is set to more than 4 steps. If the behavior does not match what's on the manual and you think it is a bug, please provide me as much information as possible to reproduce it and fix it.
