My first pedal is a looper which is SUPER important for practice and gigs. Beginners can practice and listen to chords and have a backing track to playback when practice scales and solos. If you buy a decent amp, you don't need to waste money on overdrive or distortion pedals. Plus many cheap small amps have these built in but none have a looper function!
@brucelk196 жыл бұрын
Renaissance Man do you think wah is important? I don’t see myself playing gigs but I do like songs with wah used in them. I have a Roland microcube. Also what’s a cheap looper I could get just for jamming in my house?

Except different drives give you different sounds. My Peavey Bandit 112 has on board distortion, but I can't get a fuzz sound or a decent overdriven sound with it. I have 2 drive pedals and I'm looks at picking up a couple more to get some specific sounds I cant get with my current equipment.

@ronniedboyd63135 жыл бұрын
There are some really great effects that plug directly into the guitar and have all the knobs and switch’s controllable by hand. VOX makes a bunch of them and I believe some old school electro harmonica are made like this
@stettan15 жыл бұрын
Rip out the stomp switches and put in toggles.
@jamesreifenstein32725 жыл бұрын
I typically only run an overdrive and it lives on top of my amp, so I never use my foot, only ever my hand, to operate it. I'd start there, and depending on your amp's real estate on top, maybe expand later on onto a side-table that can take your fist slamming down
@Psyfonify4 жыл бұрын
Look into multifx units and controlling them with midi, and possibly mounting a drum machine pad type thing to your guitar to send those midi signals to turn effects on/off. It should all work seamlessly plug and play, after a couple google searches.

You can use effects with an acoustic guitar, "especially" when you have a pickup in it? No, that would be "only" if you have a pickup in it. Also, as others have pointed out, that's not a chorus. If you're teaching beginners, it would be kind of important to avoid spreading misinformation, don't you think?
@graphics_dev59187 жыл бұрын

Lighter gauge strings and electric guitars have more sustain, because the pickups can detect the smaller vibrations of the strings
