Start with two 20 gauge pieces of 8 inch dead soft, round, copper wire(feel free to use other metals, copper is just what I use in this video)
Use 28 gauge round dead soft wire to weave around the 20 gauge wire, just leave this wire on the spool.
Tools use:
needle nose pliers(Xuron)
round nose pliers
wire cutters

This is a cool little beginner earring video...it's so coincidental because I just did my first pair of wire woven earrings yesterday. I have been sticking to pendants and bracelets and kind of avoiding earrings. My biggest hurdle in wire weaving though is cabochon rings. I did like the video you did recently of one. Oh and I loved, was it last week, the two videos you put out back to back...the tree of life labradorite with wire border and caterpillar coiled marquise labradorite. I loved them both. So pretty. Thanks, Melissa

Your videos are just the BEST! I have some Dogsteeth Amethyst coins that I have been unable to do anything WONDEROUS with...now I know what I am going to do with them! I also have Blue Crazy lace Agate coins that will get the same treatment!

Thank you! Yes, I am sure just having them be similar would be enough, almost impossible to get them to be exact.

That is gorgeous. Thank you for the idea. I make jewelry and I recently started wiring wrapping and I love it but I'm still experimenting with wire. I'm not sure about hardness. I did some research but it will take time 😊 This was a great video. Too bad I can't rate it higher than a thumbs up! I give it two if it counts!!!

Thank you! I only use dead soft wire. I know there is half hard out there also, but I find it extremely difficult to work with.

I'm pretty sure that the seed beads you are using are Miyuki Delica. If they are cylindrical that is a pretty good give away. Not that it much matters unless you want to find them again.

Oxsana, I'm fairly new to your site and starting to watch your videos. I must say, I love your style of teaching! It's super relatable and you make it seem so easy, although I know it is not. I'm self training to do wire wrapping pendants and can't get enough of these videos. You're so helpful and voice is relaxing, unlike others I've watched. lol. May I ask who you buy your beads through? Thank you for the video! And btw, love your store as well!!

Thank you! Crafts stores like Michael's and ACMoore are good for beads, and also ebay if you don't have one of those stores by you.

Hello Qxana, I now have everything I need to start Oxidizing and I am so excited to get this look in my work. But here is my question, does the oxidation, rub off on skin and clothing after it is cleaned and polished/ And does oxidation minimise the skin reaction to leave green marks? And thank you for Monsterslayer, I was so surprised to find out they are right here in NM not far from home really. Thank you Donna

The oxidation can rub off, so after oxidizing you want to polish up the pieces to remove the excess tarnish. It does not in my experience have an effect on the green marks, someone people just get those from copper, but I never have.

Those are very beautiful! I wanted to ask you to please be more precise with the measurements, I can't afford to waste my expensive wire, and hate cutting of random pieces. I skip a lot of your videos because of this. I watch Lan Anh most of the time because of the precision. You should check out a couple of her videos, so that you will understand what I mean. Thanks for sharing your lovely projects ♥

Are you using fine silver as a beginner? Real copper wire is 10 cents a foot and that includes shipping. Wire from the craft store is about 15 cents a foot (silver plated).

@@jessicaday9196 I'm not a beginner, I've been making jewelry for over 30 years. I'm just always learning new tips and tricks. I actually get my copper wire from old computers and TVs and such. I pick them up at yardsales for a dollar or two :)

@@VondaInWonderland that's super creative. You can try making a pendant like this with craft wire first at the lower cost in order to work out any kinks or alterations you may want to make before using the more expensive wire. I didn't realize that sort of wire was more expensive than the craft store or the copper wire online.

I notice that with most of your videos you NEVER give measurements. I mean... how in the world are we supposed to know how much wire to use or not use, what gauge wires to use ( all, not just one ), what kind of wire to use ( dead soft, half hard, round, etc ). What kind of tools to have handy? I mean... I know it seems simple, and I know this kinda works for you but.... help?

I do say that info, in this video for example at 0:46 you can see it says "start with 7-8 inches of round dead soft wire". I start with two pieces of it, and I weave around them with 28 gauge weaving wire. I don't say measurements for the weaving wire because I leave that on the spool. I pretty much always use round dead soft wire as that is the standard wire to use. I did recently get some square wire and I think I used that in one video so far, but I made sure to point out I was using square wire in that video.
