Thank you for this tutorial! I have watched others who immediately jump into nailing them to the wall, but don’t explain how to measure and cut!! Thank you for such a thorough video. Great job!

Thank you for creating a video that is so clear. I have watched so many videos and managed to do the chair rail in my bathroom since there were mostly inner corners that I had to use a coping saw on (which I could only understand after watching a British man explain it 😂). Following your advice, I now have 4 templates, 45 degrees left and right, and 22.5 degrees left and right. I can now understand what I am doing, especially since the room has many angles and corners. You are wonderful.

This is what I needed for a beginner like myself 🙌🏼 because I do not know how to use a miter saw 😬
@Hanasdiyhome6 ай бұрын
You can do this!! If it’s a small room, you can use a mitre box and hand saw. Or mitre shears

So helpful for beginners. Thank you for the detailed breakdown of steps and approach most other tutorials don’t do. I didn’t know about pin nailers vs brad!!! Now…any tips how to remove brad nails from the molding?
@Hanasdiyhome6 ай бұрын
Hi Joy! You’re welcome. If you mean that you made a mistake and the nail is stuck, you can usually use a pair of pliers and see if you can yank it out. If not, bend it back and forth and it should break off.

Do you need to nail to the studs or just the drywall?
@HanasdiyhomeАй бұрын
This trim is really light so drywall is fine

I would love to make this but the measurements are the tricky part for me
@Hanasdiyhome9 ай бұрын
I agree. They def are. For reference my spacing is all 5” apart (from other trim, baseboard, crown etc). I have a worksheet on my blog that helps with the size of the boxes too

For the pin nailer how long was the length of the nail? I really want to replicate this project for my home but I am worried about hitting an electrical wire or pipes. I've never nailed/screwed anything in my wall for fear of damaging some important component. Did you have to use a stud finder berfore hand for this project?
@Hanasdiyhome7 ай бұрын
Hi! Use the shortest nail possible for the thickness of your trim. I use 1.5”. I don’t use a stud finder as it’s impossible to nail all the boards into a stud
@salimahafurova82727 ай бұрын
Perfect! Thank you so much! Is there no risk of hitting a pipe or electrical wire with the 1.5" nailer? @@Hanasdiyhome

You can use construction adhesive. Beware because it’s gonna be really hard to remove if you change your mind

I’m willing to try this but miter saws range from $300 to 2000 what should I get?
@Hanasdiyhome4 ай бұрын
So this is a tricky question because you’ll wanna get one that flips the mitre on both right and left and they tend to be a bit more $$

You may be able to rent one from Home Depot. I rent the tools I don’t already have from them often.
