An imaging guided surgeon (interventional radiologist) & neuroradiologist, author of nutrition, medical & study skills books, Peter Rogers MD is the "Spartan Vegan."
In college he was student athlete of the year at Stanford. Graduated 1st in medical school class.
Dr. Rogers works as neuroradiologist, but also did fellowship imaging guided surgery (interventional radiology) at Harvard. He got fat in 30's and learned his way out. He was one of best medical students in USA in biochemistry and tries to understand pathophysiology. Has written a books about nutrition & study skills including "How to improve blood flow," "Hot topics in nutrition," "Straight A at Stanford & on to Harvard," "How to raise IQ, & become a genius."
Stanford university student athlete of the year, 1985. University of Illinois medical school award for best male medical student in class; best student in pathology; highest board scores in class of 333 students; biochemistry score 780/800, possibly the highest in the USA (biochem is the most difficult subject in medical school). Biochem is “considered” to include nutrition. Residency at Northwestern with 99% board scores. Fellowship in interventional radiology (imaging guided surgery) at Harvard. Fellowship in neuroradiology at Rush.
Author of multiple books about nutrition, reducing risk of disease, and study skills. Discovered almost all the major medical textbooks are 50-100 years out of date, and often, completely wrong. Secret desire #1 = to become a nutrition doctor, but can’t, because there’s no money in it. Secret desire #2 = to rewrite the major medical textbooks, but can’t, because there’s no money in it. The shocking truth is that most medical textbooks are essentially worthless, because they do no include nutrition, and most disease is caused by poor nutrition.

Dr. McDougall has way more class. Dr. McDougall would never say such degrading things about women like this guy does on his channel.

Thank you Dr. Rogers! I just looked up Katherine Reid and she helped me understand your concepts even better! 👍 You move kinda fast for my level, (which I like cuz it challenges me)- but your references also help a lot. Thank you!! 🙏❤️

Chef AJ, I would, also, love to know the answer to your question about being a strict, cooked vegan, getting cancer, and then going raw and healing.....

Anecdotes raise questions, not proofs. Need controlled studies to tease out what’s really happening. For example, Did cancer start before going vegan? Did being vegan slow it down? Did staying vegan and adding raw practices slow recurrence or aid recovery? How long “cancer free” are we calling “cured”?

Just because I’m a McDougaller, does not mean one can’t get an injury. However we heal FAST. I am not as petite as Chef AJ, but still at a 22 BMI. Have a more robust skeleton. But love to walk. It helped getting my weight down where I want. And then I can eat and not be hungry. But I developed a sore 2nd Metatarsal, but whether it is one thing or another, my Podiatrist was quite impressed with the result of the WFPB diet. At 71, I am fit. So yesterday I got shoes for my wide feet, built for people like me, more rounded toe. My doctor is a junk food vegan. Going all in is where the results we want are. He was really amazed at me. If I were a horse, I’d be a draft horse. Even so, maybe more Neanderthal genes here! I had been walking up to 6 miles a day. Today, though, I did not go as far as in the past, in distance, but I’ll get there. The good news is that I realized I needed X-rays and brought them with on my iPad to see the Podiatrist. Great, got a diagnosis and wore my expensive shoes to the app’t. I have a dear husband who cares more about my welfare than our bank account, I also got a pair of sandals which will not hurt my capsulitis. I am in the start of a bunion and hammer toe, but also before it gets bad and they can both be reversed. Good news, can return to walking with my new shoes. And they are actually cute. Who knew. Being 80 lbs. slimmer has made my husband most proud of his size 4 jeans-wearing wife. I love Chef AJ’s show, even if she shares my birthday and with Dr. McDougall’s. I am in good company! My husband had cancer 7 years ago and it has not come back. All credit goes to the diet. He’s off his BP Meds, AND he’s down 60 lbs., himself. Even when we are not always perfect, the diet works! Yes, the way we eat is for me, the means of reprogramming my brain and keeps me inspired. Everywhere I go, people want to know how come I look so young. It is the food!

@@CHEFAJ When they eat the SAD diet, as Dr. McDougall says, it is a slow poison, the immune system has nothing extra very much to handle healing. The body rejoices when we stop the poisoning and rewards us!

2:30 why are mushrooms crossed off? I’m guessing fermented food are crossed off because of the salt. Is it possible to get fermented food without salt? I mean lactobacillus is on everything right?
