Thank you for showing how to attach the feet. Loved the comparison of walking feet and quilting pattern ideas with useful tips. Hubby at the end with the pillows was a cute finish. It brought me joy.

This video was a God send for me. I made my first quilt top at the end of last year and stopped there. I watched many videos of people showing how to quilt but not one of them explained the very basics. I knew there was a “special” foot and now, after watching your video, I understand the difference between three different feet and how to use them. I now know stitch length is important. You’ve explained how to use the basic straight stitch and simple decorative stitches for quilting. I can’t thank you enough for sharing this video.

Thank you for all this information. I want to machine quilt and you just made it a lot more clear to me. I think I can do these! Going to go make a quilt sample sandwich and give it a go. So enjoy your teaching.

I have only used the walking foot or the standard foot most often. I don’t think I’ve used a stitch in the ditch foot before. Might have to try it next time. Thanks for your very helpful demonstrations.

This video was recommended for me to learn more about waving stitching, very good demonstrations! However I do not have a quilting machine. I am NOT good at doing free form stitching with motion foot!!! Is there a way to do wavy patterns when doing potholders? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you
@TheSewingRoomChannel4 жыл бұрын
Hi Bijoux. Does your sewing machine have the "serpentine" stitch on it? It is not a free motion stitch. It is already programmed into the computerized sewing machine. I use the "serpentine" stitch on drink coasters, pot holders, table runners, just about everything. You can buy a computerized sewing machine for about $400.00. Look at Babylock, or buy a used one. Otherwise, I don't know how to do a wavy line other than doing free motion. I'm not good at free motion either. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.

@@TheSewingRoomChannel OH thank you!!! I do have it on my sewing machine! I had never used that stitch. I just thought it was just another 'decorative" stitch, and don't use many. I tried different settings, to make wider or narrower and well as stitch length. I works great, I just did a scrap piece for practice. Now I will have to get my potholder materials ready. Thank you so much for the educational information. This is a great feature. So glad I watched your video and got help from you. I will watch more of them becasue I want to learn more.

Hi Cheryl, love your videos! Just started seeing a few months ago and you have been so helpful. Quick question, do you backstitch with the serpentine stitch? If you do, does the walking foot allow backstitching?
@TheSewingRoomChannel6 ай бұрын
Hi Kayla. Yes you can backstitch on the serpentine stitch but I usually don't. The walking presser foot does not will allow back stitching. On my sewing machine this is a lock stitch button that I press at the beginning and ending of a row of stitching. Look in your user's manual for the location of that stitch. On both of my machines the button is on the very front. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching💗and happy sewing😍

Great explanation of quilt stitches. Question- did you use a walking foot when you did the embroidery stitching?
@TheSewingRoomChannel4 жыл бұрын
Hi Nancy. On the Babylock Crescendo there is a specialty foot for the large embroidery stitches, and that is what I used during the video. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.

How do you make your decorative stitching bigger so that your pattern is bigger on your quilt
@TheSewingRoomChannelАй бұрын
Hi Jennifer. It depends on the available features on your sewing machine. Select the buttons that make stitches wider and longer. You high end sewing machines do have larger decorative stitch patterns. The examples in this tutorial were made longer and wider. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
