@@MrBullya how old are ya ? Fuck cuzzo , long boards are like so 1970s Thrusters or nothin lol 😂 Nah seriously, ya got balance already , well kinda I’m guessing from a long board 😬 but it’s like any board riding , confidence, balance and control , once you have balance all’s ya need is to learn control , braking ! Then speed eventually progress,s from there . Watch the more experienced riders and try copy there movements, you’ll see they glide along pushing from side to side , it’s allows higher speeds with more control , instead of doing a full 90• turn to brake and coming to a complete stop you’ll start doing 40-30• turns allowing yourself to slow down enough to keep control obviously the less you turn the faster you go , confidence! And btw I’ve axed me self just as hard skateboarding as I have snowboarding Surfings what ya make it , reefs and huge swells etc I tend to stay away from that madness at my age ,my teenage days are long gone bro 😎 Board riders 4 life 🤙

Yeah, I actually started boarding before skating and let me tell you, it’s way harder to transition from boarding to skating than skating to boarding. Skating came to me much harder but I think if you skate, you should be fine for the most part on the slopes. It’s a lot of the confident factor and falling on snow vs asphalt is very different

I'm not even a beginner I just love your channel xD An overview for beginners: Step 1: Heel side slide - sliding down on your heel edge, lifting/dropping your toes to control your speed Step 2: Toe side slide - sliding down on your toe edge, lifting/dropping your heel to control your speed Step 3: Heel edge side-to-side (AKA falling leaf) - leaning to the left, or to the right when you're sliding down. Step 4: Toe edge falling leaf - equivalent of Step 3, but a bit harder because you cant see down the hill. Same idea, just sliding left and right down the hill. These 4 steps are crucial as you learn how to STOP and how to control the snowboard angle/edge-control on your board without "catching an edge" and falling over. Its all about shifting your weight. Take your time to learn these steps and do not skip them. Once you get comfortable with those 4 steps, congratulations, you can start learning how to turn! Step 5: C shape turns - going from heel edge to toe edge, or toe edge to heel edge. Its essentially an extension of Step 3 & 4. You continue to turn and look and lean the direction your want to turn. Remember to turn your hips and really engage your whole body. The board should go from on the edge, to flat temporarily when you're going down the hill, and then back onto the other edge. This can be very confronting at first, as for the first time, you will start to pick up speed (when the snowboard is flat and going down the hill!). Most people instinctively react by leaning back/towards the slope, which is the opposite of what you want and will actually make you more likely to fall! Trust your instructor and trust the skills you have already learnt, and you'll be able to make C shape turns before you know it! Step 6 S shape turns : Once you're comfortable doing C shape turns, you can then start linking your C shapes -> 2 C shapes = an S shape turn. Congratulations, you can now snowboard!!

If any of you are reading this comment and have never snowboarded before read this. 1) Snowboarding is hard. It is also very fun. Before you invest in good equipment rent the equipment first. 2) None of these videos will show you how to snowboard until YOU actually try it. You can't just watch a video and be good. 3) You will get hurt. Today was my first time going and I had 3 big falls on my left shoulder. 4) Partners can show... not teach. If you have a good friend/partner sure go ahead and ask them but you gotta do it. 5) You have to take the risk. You have to start somewhere. 6) No one cares if you're bad at snowboarding. 7) *NEVER* have your board going straight for more than 4 seconds (downhill). In the video they say toes and heels. You always have to be on one of them. 8) heels are easier than toes. If you are new start off with heel. To control heel put the side of the snowboard you want to go facing 45 degrees. 9) *ALWAYS* wear a helmet. 10) There are two way to snowboard (regular) or (goofy) To figure out which one you are imagine kicking a soccer ball, whichever foot you choose is the foot that goes in front. If you kick with your right foot you're regular. If you kick with left you are goofy. 11) Whenever you fall get back up. Stay persistent.

I learnt snowboarding only from watching all of Kevin's videos and put them into practice. From zero snow experience to decent turns at a good speed in 3 days. All it takes is a couple(well a lot) of falling but most importantly realise why you're making a particular mistake and try not to repeat it again. Body positioning and centre of gravity is key to stop falling on your ass. haha, all the best!
@BaldurKhr6 жыл бұрын
GREAT explanation ! Actually, my motto is that if you are sweating, then you are doing it wrong! I am descending in such a relaxed manner, even at high speeds I'm not consuming too much energy. I let my body do all by controlling my center of mass, exactly as when riding a bicycle, when you speed up, you use the bicycle to catch your center of mass so you don't fall, but if you stand still on a bicycle, you will fall. All I do is to lean back and forth catching the center of mass. This gives birth to that river flow motion, which the body dictates. I call this an ART ! Cheers !

I had my first lesson last August and I’ve only been able to sign up for a second that I’ll be taking tomorrow. Going backwards down the slope seems so scary and counterintuitive, but when the instructor explained that you will go in the direction you are facing, it made sense. Since you are facing up the slope, you should be able to go a bit slower. Still scary but I’m hoping I’ll be able to learn diagonal slides so I can pass the first beginners course! Some tips from me: buy some flexible fabric knee pads, the type someone might use if they need to kneel down to do some gardening. When you first start out you will be falling onto your knees A LOT. Think that it’s just soft snow and you’ll be okay? My knees were a deep purple for over a week afterwards. I learned my lesson and I’m going prepared tomorrow! Also, if you think you’re going to be serious about snowboarding, buy your own helmet, because at the indoor slopes the helmets they have will stink of dirty hair. Trust me, it’s gross! And good luck!

I watched this video before I went snowboarding for the first time last week in Sweden. All the tips were really helpful especially the one with how you make the snowboard go a chosen direction by looking and pointing with your hand at that direction. One thing that I think that should be mentioned is that you seriously need knee-, elbow- and, if possible, ass-protection. I have NEVER gotten this bruised by any other sport I’ve tried haha. And the sweat... OH MY! x) Although I have to mention that I’m not the most careful type of person which could have been a factor in the bruising. Anyway I had no problem with any of ski slopes at the end of the week. I even dared to try the easier jumps in the ski parks. Just wanted to share this hah. Thanks for the video :)

I used to ski because my family skis but now I am the only one snowboarding. My moms says I’m a natural
@AdamsTubing4 жыл бұрын
your a natural because you learned to ski first. you learned to manage your velocity down the slope. this lesson is rubbish

Same I live in a family of 6 and I’m the only one who boards. My dad’s been skiing for a while. My younger sister (10), and my younger brother(6) are both skiers. My other younger brother(4) is starting this year which should be interesting. My mom broke her knee 2 years back and still isn’t 100% to get back out. I started skiing when I was 5 and I just thought it was so boring. I was still a beginner but didn’t progress much. I skied the next year but my 3rd year in the slopes I wanted to try something different. And it turned out great. I’ve been boarding for about 4 years and it’s awesome

just got into snowboarding and i absolutely love it, i got the heels and toes down on my first day but carving down the mountain straight between the two is still difficult
@klaudiak30526 жыл бұрын
I feel like toes is easier because if you get too excited on your heels and dont lift up in time or lower too much you’re definitely going face first into the snow
@sanderjoeynijman6 жыл бұрын
You'll have more controll over your toe edge
@martina26596 жыл бұрын
Doing a toeside carve and catching your heelside edge is not fun though
@klaudiak30526 жыл бұрын
PhaseSkater that is really situational, ive caught my heel edge when i was learning and didnt even hit my head
@kt-tu6jl6 жыл бұрын
Martin A how can that happen?
@martina26596 жыл бұрын
If you don't have enough weight on your toeside edge. I've been snowboarding for 11 years and it's happened a few times over the years, especially when landing jumps. My tailbone was sore for over a year once, and started to ache if I sat for more than five minutes. Nowadays I always wear crash pants.
