I’ve been snowboarding once, however it’s been far too long since then. Just here to refresh on the basics before I take a chance on the slopes

Love the tutorials as I am finally starting to get into intermediate territory… I do need to learn how to point the board straight/be on a very slight edge still… and improve my sliding linked turns thou… any help there would be awesome🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Keep your stance as balanced as you can. Think about keeping a bit more weight on the nose of your board. Keep your shoulders running parallel with the snowboard edges, to ensure it runs straight. Any deviation from a centered and stacked stance, (other than keeping your lead foot, or nose, a bit heavier) could cause your board to turn in a way you don’t intend, leading to unintentional turning, to even worse, like catching an edge. Doing all of those things will help you become comfortable, and knowing the moment you want to pull onto an edge to slow down, you can. This in turn, will help you become more comfortable with speed

Thank you for this! I have a lot of fear with speed and now tend to ride toe side mostly because it feels more controllable. When I turn onto a heel I feel like it is too fast. How do you get over the fear of speed? I just start imagining my wrists being broken when I fall at any speed above 10 mph lol

I think you’ll get control over your heels just with practice. Awesome that you feel good on your toes!

When I went to Japan and tried snowboarding for the first time, I found that many of the chairlift disembark points are really low to the ground. I ended up getting up not from a seated position but more like halfway from a squat. That threw my balance off and I fell almost every time except once getting off the chairlift. "Easily stand up" was not a thing haha.

This timing of this video comes peefectly! Last time, it was my first time at the slopes and all the points i struggled with are shown in the video! I guess, it's time to try again before the season ends! 🥹

Hello, quick question, I'm an advanced snowboarder and I noticed that with my new board that is wider than my previous, I tend to be a lot more tip-toeing on my back foot during front-side turns ... At the end of the day the base of my big toe is in pain. Could the binding be too short ? Or should I change the rear foot angle, or the spoiler tilt ? Or could it come from the boot that is old and too soft ? Thanks for your help
@diywarren17768 ай бұрын
“Tip-toeing”. do you mean your heel is lifting up within your boot? If so that often means your riding is becoming more aggressive, meaning more pressure is applied to the boots. As you mentioned, a wider board would also do this. Look up videos on reducing heel lift.
