Today I'm riding with my friends Chris and Doug and it's their first day back trying some beginner snowboard tricks. The goal for today is to progress slowly and to stay safe. A few snowboard tricks that are great to start off with are nose & tail presses, ollies & nollies, grab on side hits, front & back shifty's and finally 5050 's across an easy box. You can also throw in front & back 180's if you're progressing fast with learning snowboard tricks. It's always good to make your first run of the day is a warm up run and you can throw in a few switch snowboard turns as well. A slow progression is key for staying safe and that why we practice most snowboard tricks on the snow and side hits before taking them to the park. If you have any question about beginner snowboard tricks you can leave them in the comments. Thanks for watching!

Sapient PnB1, true twin 160cm. Its park oriented but also big and wide enough I get away with using it in the powder. I love the true twin shape (identical front and back) as it makes learning switch tricks much easier IMO. However Sapient no longer exists, so you cant get this one unless you find it somewhere.

Nice video guys! To Doug; pre-load your ollies by moving slightly toward your nose first, then snap/pop off your tail. Pre-loading helps you land less tail heavy and keeps you level out and land more evenly/naturally. Happy shredding!

This was a really cool and great video guys. You made it simple to understand and the slow and easy progression of start to completion was great. I am an advanced rider with a beginner ride style to tricks and am always wanting to push myself to do simple and yet cool tricks. This video made it easy for me to get the courage to go out there and go for it! I'll be trying them out this season for sure! Thank you

Hi Kevin, Thank you for sharing these tips on improving riding! Your channel is what essentially kickstarted my wanting to progress to the next level. I do have a question about prewinding for a spin, could you may be the explain a bit more about how/when to prewind for a spin? For example, I usually find myself confused a bit on when to leverage my toe to heel momentum for a f360 spin. I think I want to prewind a bit when I'm on toe edge because prewind during heel edge is a bit too late. And during flatbase makes me counterrotate myself. Any tips is appreciated! Happy holidays!

Your audio on these lifts is absolutely stellar. How do you do it? What equipment are you using? I'd love to see a video about the recording gear you guys use: the GoPro is obvious but a lot of people might not notice how incredibly clean the audio is, on a really windy mountain. I can hear your voices as clear as riders on the ground below the lift, but I don't hear any wind. Is that just the GoPro itself?

Hey! I just had my first official day of snowboarding a couple days ago. I didn't do so well...lots of falling, catching my toe edge, and not being able to stop or turn to control my speed. Do you think you could do a video about how to keep pushing forward with learning to snowboard after you feel like you've failed?

how many degrees do you set up your board, what's the best for tricks(mainly switches), and how does the degree affect your ride? I know that they make it easier it for skating and your dominant foot, but besides that I don't know anything. Could you also talk a bit about what the length of your board does?

Question! I know that you want your weight evenly distributed over both feet during jumps. However, I feel unbalanced if I try to spring from a completely flat base. Should I be putting more emphasis on a particular part of my foot when initiating a jump? ??? Really enjoy these trick progression videos. It's nice to see others going through the struggle, haha.
