Excuse me for not knowing but is this oil or acrylic? I’m assuming by some of your other videos that it’s oil. I was wondering what the liquid white is? I’m going to attempt this with acrylic as I don’t do oil (yet?!) You are just an amazing painter and teacher. Well after watching the whole video and doing a search for liquid white I have my answers.. lol . I even found how to make some for acrylic. I’m still going to attempt this and if it turns out even 1/4 as good as yours I will call it a success! What a relaxing way to paint with such fantastic results!

Beautiful painting! When you make your trees with the fan brush, your tree looks so sharp, I load my brush up with a lot of paint but even then, the ends aren't sharp. Should I just get a new fan brush?

Hey Bram, thanks for this. I gave this painting a go this morning (3rd attempt at a bob Ross style) and I also used white gesso for the first time. I noticed pretty quickly that my canvas was quite wet and by the time I got to the snow on the mountain my paint was smearing badly. If I use gesso do I need less liquid white than normal? Should I have applied gesso the night before instead of this morning?

Following on from this, a general problem that my girlfriend and I have is that the white used for clouds blends with the blue, or the yellow highlight becomes darker/contaminated after we dab our brushes back on the palette for more. Would really appreciate your advice on this, thanks

I followed the paint mixtures to a T. My sky turned out decent and mountains not horrible. The white doesn’t want to slide off the knife at all. It either sticks to my knife, or if I press harder it almost smears like icing. Then I can never get highlights to stick I put a little bit of liquid white or a touch of thinner and when it goes in it just looks mushy or bland (color isn’t bright enough). What am I doing wrong? I put very thin coat of liquid white to start. And try to add the sky and water with as little paint as possible and even sometimes my dark color doesn’t wanna stick when I’m planting trees. :/. I will say my canvas was super rough. I sanded my other ones of the same type and there super smooth now. Is that part of the problem maybe? Rough vs smooth canvas maybe you could make a video explaining how canvas texture can effect the Bob Ross style techniques.

Like your videos and paintings.. I keep having issues with my mountains, I can make the mountain but the snow and shadows are my issues, it always turns out looking like there are 2 different colors on each side and not like it's suppose too.. plus I never know if I'm using too much liquid white or not enough.. do you have any suggestions for me to fix these problems.. thanks.

Hello! I'm not Bram, but he has a few videos that might help you, here is a video on applying the Liquid white ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/jWW2omdqhpeWjpY ) And here is a video on mountains ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4rRp2trl8mLlas ) If you want a shortened version I can give you this, With the liquid white you should be able to touch the corner of the canvas and still see the ridges in your finger print, but everything else be covered. With the mountains first apply your highlights like normal, then when you are doing shadows instead of just dragging the shadow color down, push the shadow color into the highlight just a touch, that way the two colors can mix a little and it should give a more desirable effect. Hope this helps!

How important is it to use bobs Cavas?

great work again Bram but ' please adjust the sound system' or improve your voice as it sounds very squeaky and cant even hear clearly or audibly. Fortunately, your work is good.
