I don't want to come off as bragging here so just ignore that whole aspect..... I've seen tons of live metal shows from all types in all sorts of venues across the country all the way from tiny 30-40 ppl clubs to bands at waken. Tons of amazing metal bands suffer from poor audio setup when live and to this day Idk why. Amongst hundreds of live shows there's been 3 bands that get the live sound PERFECT at ANY size venue.... Cattle decapitation, Cradle of filth and the best of the three, Behemoth. From tiny clubs to concert halls all the way to ozzfest and waken Behemoth has sounded fucking amazing live. I don't know much as far as setting up great audio live but whatever Behemoth is doing live needs to be studied by other bands when playing live. Its almost indescribable because it adds so much more to the live experience. Here lately I've noticed a lot of bands sounding muddy and overly loud at small venues but sound amazing when outside in much much bigger venues. I'm sure it all boils down to whoever is running sound at said venue but you would think this aspect of a live show would be down to almost a science by now. It literally makes or breaks live shows and the lasting appeal people have for said band.... Anyways, I'm done ranting now.... Its just a topic I feel very strongly about.
