This is honestly my favorite installment besides the original. I loved the different undertones, the kills were a lot more elaborate, the makeup was pretty damn creepy, and I liked that they finally made a male scream queen. Mark killed it in this film

This specific film, with Patton's performance and the darker tones, really messed with me as a kid renting the VHS for the first time. In fact, I believe I watched this one prior to the first. I credit it as one of the first that sparked my passion for horror. Thank you for a great video and special thanks to Mark Patton! I intend to check out Scream Queen soon.

Great video! I have mixed feelings on the film itself, but I agree the design of Krueger's make-up and Robert Englund's mean performance are the best.

My interpretation of the pool party scene has always been that we are seeing how jesse sees it in his dream, but the actual party goers see Jesse with the glove on, hence why the classmate who trys to reason with him approaches him in the manner he does, cause surely if he was seeing burnt monster ass Freddy he wouldn't be so calm, but if he sees a dude from school that everyone knows, well...
@brandonjackson5865

I thought I was the only one who saw it like that, it was always Jesse in the real world. Sleep walking under Freddy’s guidance. The transformation in Grady’s room was from Jesse’s perspective trying to fight Freddy. Maybe Freddy was representing Jesse’s repressed identity, but I’ve never thought this movie broke the “rules” of Freddy but explored a different way he could torment people and it could be interesting seeing a sequel directly to Revenge with more of this version of Freddy.

Yes I remember that in the early 1990’s. You could buy that, a chair, and table for very cheap less than $500 that was a matching set. It was crap furniture that didn’t last more than a few years.

I always thought Part 2 was an anomaly. It’s set in the near future from when it was filmed, 1984, but set in 1989 because it took 5 years to sell the home. Also, the events in Part 3 were a continuation of Part 1 with Nancy Thompson now grown and her estranged father. No mention of Jessie and his family.

I was able to watch this when it was first released on vhs back in the day and was scared SHITLESS! I was around 6 years old and I can still remember the nightmare I had that night after watching it. For some reason I was instantly fascinated with 1428 elm (the house was it’s own huge character) and I couldn’t stop looking at it. This movie has always been a favorite of mine as Freddy was more horrifying and the cast was perfect. 1-4 is my way of watching the films (I watch all lol) but seems like the perfect timeline. 1 and 2 are the films that made me become a horror lover and will go down as iconic works of art…..along with “help yourself f_cker”.

Awesome stuff Chris. I love Mark Patton he's such a great person. I'm friends with him on Instagram and we chat once in a while. Awesome stuff and that was hilarious that they actually thought that they didn't need Robert to play Freddy. Have a great day my friend and thank you for sharing this awesome video. Chris i have to say that the look of Freddy in part 2 is my favorite look of Freddy. And i absolutely love part 2 it was the first one out of the series that i seen when I was 6 years old sneaking in the living room and turning on the telly to HBO at 3 in the morning to find A Nightmare On Elm Street part 2 Freddy's Revenge and i was absolutely in love with the Elm Street movies and Freddy krueger used to be my favorite until i was introduced to Ghostface and Ghostface is my favorite slasher now and i think the reason for that is that Scream was based on actual events.

Robert Shaye is a hack who has no real talent and messed up Elm Street by trying to act like he was a creative. That final scene was ALL him, and it was stupid. And as the series went on, he is responsible for it getting more and more ridiculous because of HIS demands. I wonder how good the Elm Street series would have been if he had stayed out of them.

I wonder how they made the "melting" effects of Jesse's personal things, and never understand the dream sequence with coach Schneider. Is it all a dream when he meets him in the bar and he brings him to school or a real thing happening? Or he is simply sleepwalking and coach is somehow sleeping in the school? I never understand it, I always think it as a dream because I can't see Schneider casually meeting Jesse in a bar and entitled to have the key for the school, but also don't know why choach should sleep in school

As a movie this flick is only an OK one off watch. But from a fan perspective it's a fun B movie slasher possession flick that works as a one off movie in the series. There will never be another Freddy movie like this ever again so as a fan I can appreciate the movie as a one off flick in the series.

8:28 But that’s the thing about the ending of the first movie - We don’t know what was real & what wasn’t. To me, the last third of the movie must’ve been a dream. Glenn sucked into a bed & nobody seems shocked at it? 🤨 Nancy brings her friends back to life? Freddy still has powers IRL? In Part3 Nancy said her Mother “...died in her sleep...” ....🤷🏽‍♂️...What?!

People focus on the gay aspect, and it is there, but really this is the scariest and darkest Freddy got, I don't like him getting too cornball later, but I could tell even as a kid this was frightening, the way he tortures Jesse to the final confrontation at the steel mill, the atmosphere of this movie is great, a nasty mid eighties feeling.

it’s hard to rank the nightmare films from good to bad, because each have their own strengths, and each have their laughably bad moments. But this one has moments in the script that are so ill-thought out, so awkward, so nonsensical, that it pretty much ruins the film. Great idea bringing Freddy into the real world, but the unevenness of the script ruins it. That said, the performances of the two leads, I thought are brilliant; real, honest, and hats off to them…..

I think this movie has a lot story flaws, some WTF moments, and an utterly incoherent ending. I think that the gay themes in the movie are interesting and clever, even if they were apparently snuck in surreptitiously by the writer and cast and the director claims he never noticed until the 2000s or so.
