I only had an opportunity to see them once during their “The Wall” tour in 1980, and they were amazing! However, I was fortunate to see a lot of bands during my teen years throughout the 70’s when ticket prices were between $5 - $10. Then to my pleasant surprise, in the smaller city where I have lived for 15 years, every summer the city would hire a lot of bands who were huge back in the 70’s - 90’s, with a few far more current bands. There would be free music shows once a week in the park during a couple months every summer. Because of this, I’ve been very fortunate to see bands I saw when I was young, along with many bands I never had a chance to see, but most of them were bands I grew up with. Unfortunately, a few years back, after the city offices were raided by the FBI, it was found that 43 million had been stolen from the city, and squandered by the prior city council. That ended the great bands here in the city. Now it’s just the cover bands they hire, as is done in many cities around the country. Good times!

I'm old enough to have purchased Dark Side of the Moon as vinyl in 1973. I'm pretty sure it was not a double album. Wish I still had it. And then I bought the 8track at least twice, the casette countless times, probably 5 or 6. Then the CD at least twice. And now, it and everything else is almost free on KZbin Music. I love the 21st century, and I count myself lucky to have been a teen in the 70s.

my father was obsessed with this album. he was listening to it on the radio when he was working on a thesis for his PhD degree (coincided with his nervous breakdown due to the stress of writing said thesis). as far as he was concerned, that was the beginning and the end of his infatuation with Pink Floyd. i dug deeper when a mix-artist i followed during the DIFM days back in the oughts and early 2010s, "Helix", did a 2-hour compilation mix of Pink Floyd's songs, including Gilmore's solo materials, bringing about the new soundscape experience that essentially led me to listening to all the original albums for additional experience. i love Momentary Lapse of Reason for its darksynth-like influences, i love Animals for how it represents the current trials and tribulations of world politics that seems to go on an endless waltz at this rate, and i love The Wall for essentially personifying what a Rock Opera could be like, but i think my go to album would be Wish You Were Here. i listened to that in its entirety and sing aloud to the album title's song whenever i lost someone important in my life: my cat, Marshmellow, our family friend and house mate, T-Bone, and recently, my father. i even found a cover album of Wish You Were Here thru KZbin. it keeps me grounded to reality, in case i might ever suffer a nervous breakdown myself.

She didn't know much about the band ahead of time, didn't know what was wanted from her, did it in one take, thought she failed, they gave no impression they liked it, left with a beer for payment, didn't even know it was used until she picked up the record in the store! I do like the album. Fun and crazy, I have to admit, LSD sure made it really fun to listen to also.

This narrator should be named "Diet Narrator." He's very similar to the regular narrator but somehow leaves you feeling less full.

How could you fail to mention the most significant feature of this album?! It was recorded in quadraphonic sound and to be truly appreciated it should be listened to as such and uninterrupted from start to finish.
