I'm surprised the presets have so much emphasis on the dsp effects. It fantastic that it has the digital effects don't get me wrong but guys. You have a 12 voice analog poly with nice sliders for everything for a Gnote... that was way more than enough already. Unless your going to spend one or two multiples of the cost of this synth on effects pedals, the synth really doesn't need any more than some chorus reverb and delay to sit the sound a little bit. Before coming here I was dead set on the Behringer Neutron as my new life goal. The Neutron still seems to sound better but I'm pretty sure that's only because it isn't getting bogged down in some ultra wet DSP effects.

You have those effects, and then you have more in case you want them. You're not forced to use them.

How is the bass on the DM12? Do you find it growls and gets fat/thick? No biggie if it doesn't (since the synth seems to offer so much already), just curious.

It's definitely not my go-to synth for bass. It can do some decent bass sounds but "thick and fat" are not really the words that jump out. I think having vintage roland or any moog monosynth would compliment it nicely. I think the DM12's strengths are in its pads/chords/ambient sounds more than anything (IMO).
