The 3rd in the 'Synth For A Day' series features the Behringer Poly D, an impressive recreation of the famous MiniMoog with additional features that bring it up to date for easy integration within your synth studio and live performance setups.
Within is a one-shot but lengthy improvisation with the Poly D from single oscillator on up to all 4, through it's control and modulation, filtering, plus the additional features such as the arpeggiator and sequencer, the Juno chorus, internal distortion (as well as the original overdrive in routing the headphone out into external input). No talking/bloviating, no social commentary nor near pointless unboxing, etc. Just Poly D/MiniMoog usage.
Personally I feel the latest Behringer synth offerings are absolutely fantastic given these wonderful vintage classics are near non-existent and priced accordingly. Behringer is one of few giving proper attention to detail and allowing new young synth hands and minds a chance to get hands on with it's synthesis again (and all at a more than fair price point).
I've had the Behringer Model D next to a near-mint '71 MiniMoog and the differences were minutia at best. The latest Poly D expands on their Model D module with a larger user interface, extended patching ability, additional fx such as the Juno 60/106 chorus and internal distortion, It's well-built in construction (complete with wood encasing and flip-up interface), and most importantly accurate in sound.
*reverb and delay by 'Meris' products
More in this synth series to come featuring vintage classics from Korg, ARP, Ensoniq and more so please like, share and subscribe to be alerted when they arrive.

A rare video of an actual musican playing a synth. Thank you. I’ve seen more than enough knob turners to last me the rest of my life.

And I think this demonstrates why you want to get a hardware synth. If you only ever feed midi notes from your DAW and sweep the filter … you might be better of with a VST. But if you actually play it like an instrument then it‘s a completely different story. Like, who want‘s to play a guitar with the mouse ;)

@@leolansbergen7013 Right on, thank you. I think I know what you're talking about. I was using OSC 4 to be the modulator (rather than the basic switched saw/square modulator). There you can select the different OSCs as a modulator (ramp down or up, saw, triangle, etc). The vintage has 3 OSC, so you would use OSC3 to be the modulator.

Well, Moog's MiniMoog is absolute pleasure alongside it being the Poly D's target. Playing a vintage working MM is an experience too. The excitement is in the imperfections. Combine it with select outboard and ya might not leave the studio. But yes, super glad these exist and with useful bonus features within.

The one thing that helped me 40 years ago, buying a model D and, by extension of ease of use, just start twisting knobs and flicking the switches. You’ll soon see how fun and easy it becomes to create and soar with patch design. I sold mine 25 years ago and can’t wait to get back in now that Behringer is around. What a save and close enough clone!

hey joe can i ask if you would reccommend this synth to another musician ive alrewdy got the korg minilogue but this seems alot fatter and warmer might sell the korg unless they complimemt each other but i was wanting to get either the poly d or a deepmind 12 i know id probably get more with the deeomind but i enjoy playing with knobs and am not afraid of no presets and i have to say i want the new behringer 2600 probably get that last unless hey have some big release news just wondering if you held onto yours and if you are fully satisfied by it mamy thanks for taking the time to make this demo
@Joedoriamusic
@Joedoriamusic 3 жыл бұрын
Well the Minilogue is certainly cool too, but yes the Model D/Poly-D is a different tone and weight (you will certainly dig it, it's essentially a minimoog+. There a way to keep it and add a DeepMind12 first (so you have a Juno+ poly) and save and add in a Poly-D (or vice versa)? The Mini will add a different tone to these.
