In review videos, I always wished that they would not only make cool sounds and show the synth's capabilities, but also how they made sounds that were put into songs. Using the past year of experience with the Behringer Poly D, a clone of the Minimoog Model D, I created 5 songs for the album / EP (THE POLY D FILES) and went through each part of the songs.
Thanks to synths KZbinrs like Loopop, Bo Beats, Andrew Huang, and sonicstate for the inspiration!

bro if you talk 50% faster, your videos will improve a lot and you will get Much more subs... i put it at 1.5 speed, and when i put the speed back to normal to hear the synth it sounded like you were talking on slow motion. English is not my primary language so i believe 50% faster would be extremely easy for anyone to understand. Anyways thanks wor the video, i'll buy the synth thanks to it.

@@HOLLASOUNDS More like you can get 90% of the sound for certain sounds, and 50% for many others, and an impossibility and to even create for many other sounds. Unfortunately, you get 50% of the feel of an analog synth (I mean for both playing, and for listening to a song in a mix) with a vst, and 50% or less of the inspiration to play and create sounds with a vst. It’s really not even comparable, even for a cheap Behringer synth. Compared to a real Model D … forget about it.

I really enjoyed this. And you are right, when you see a review, it's good to watch someone actually creating tracks and seeing how they create and use the sounds. I really enjoyed your music and will listen through those again. it's amazing that you've made those using only this Minimoog clone. Thanks!

Commenting 1:38 in, but this is so immediately refreshing. Like most other KZbin genres synth videos have become - understandably - very premeditated and overproduced. Love how this is just bare bones "Here's my noise box and here's what I done with it". Okay I'm gonna watch the rest of it now...

Great video, great sounds and music. I have a Poly D and Korg Wavestate, Poly D is fun to use and Korg Wavestate is a disaster - menu diving is a nightmare. I have about 20 x hardware synths and love buying them - but these days I look for knob per function and minimal menu dive. The Wavestate sounded so good in demo videos I had to buy one - but now I rarely use it due to menus.
@Songtweaker
@Songtweaker Жыл бұрын
Haha, I totally agree that the menu diving on the wavestate is a nightmare. That's why I like resorting to the software sometimes to control some things on it. That being said, I feel like it's a synth I will never sell because I love using it in songs. What synths do you have? If I could have 3 synths, I would probably choose the wavestate, iridum, and summit, even though they can be annoying with the menu diving.
@johnsmith-nd9yo
@johnsmith-nd9yo Жыл бұрын
@@Songtweaker The synths I own are - Novation Mininova (nice but lots of menu diving - software editor is very good). Behringer Poly D - lots of analog fun. Behringer crave - great low priced synth. Novation Bass-station 2 - fantastic. Behringer Odyssey - great synth. Waldorf Blofeld - not enough knobs. Waldorf Microwave XT. Korg Wavestate - great sounds - lots to learn. 3 x Korg Volcas - drum/modular/FM. Behringer Neutron, Pro One & K2. Behringer Deepmind 12. Teisco 110. If I could only keep one it would be the Behringer Deepmind 12 - I love it, highly recommend it. I would love to get a Summit and Iridium but I need to slow down haha.

Same since I got mine I just record everything and it all sounds good and inspiring to keep going. I don’t even miss patch saving because a few turns of the knobs and BAM another great sound that takes zero effort to sound great in the mix. Great concise and informative video. Love the approach. The only thing I would have appreciated is hearing the a sample of the beat you created first, and hearing it for a little bit longer. This would help to focus on the sounds you created in context first and then would be able to pay attention to the sounds of interest more closely during the tutorial section. It's a minor constructive criticism only offered to help. Thanks for this vid.

Makes me wanna make .clipping style beats and such. I got a good handful of synths but I got no clue why such an old design sounds so much richer than a lot of the modern stuff I got It just sounds exactly like a synth in my head i dunno. No dedicated PWM (there's an EASY mod for that it's P sick) not alot of controls and just vvv simple but like it's so so so easy to get good sounds out of it.
