Being a Heathen parent, Religous consent with your kids, and ritual to Thor on the beach!

Just some thoughts while on vacation with the family. I know it's not the best video but it's very real and was written, shot and edited all on my phone on the beach so not too bad if I say so myself.
My ritual to thor was very personal since we traveled so far with nothing bad having happened to us. I thank Thor every day for His protection. offerings were made off camera due to waves incoming lol.

Leaving christianity was probably the best thing I could have done for my kids. They've recently expressed that the church was not ideal for them and they did not choose to go back (I always left this option open, I left the religion not them) and that they do not align with chrisitanity anymore. It was honestly a shock to my system, but I felt a sense of relief. I am so happy that they are comfortable in expressing that with me and that they've come to reality a lot sooner than I did. Now, if we can just get the hubby onboard. (That's a joke...he can believe whatever he wants.) 😁

Compared to WoO (glad I found the video on here about that and got out), this channel feels so much...healthier. It feels welcoming, personal, kind, warm hearted, and like a true mentor figure. Ever since I found the video on all the bs WoO has done yesterday, I've been binging Ocean's videos and now Red's as well. Yyyyeeeesssss!!!!! This is why I tried so hard to just avoid mentioning any religion talk with my daughter who is currently 5 but not all family was on board unfortunately. I don't want her to feel forced into any religion. I wanted her to ask on her own when she was old enough. I want her to feel free to make up her own mind instead of just feeling like she should believe something because it's what she's been taught since she was little. I wish I had that kind of religious freedom as a child.

Omgosh! Your kids are adorable! I have a couple of the little munchkins about the age of your youngest. Honestly, I tell Norse stories and myths during bedtime more than any kind of rituals with them. My four year old is just starting to ask what religion is and what's a god and I'm having a hard time explaining in like... An age appropriate way. But I have the same problem trying to explain why mommy hates the Disney movie about Pocohontas and why we are not going to watch it. There's just a lot of context I don't think they're ready for, but trying to explain without that context seems incorrect. But I'm trying! Haha Parenthood, amirite

A genuinely beautiful video which , after a difficult and stressful day at work, has really out a smile back on my face. It is highly instructive to learn about heathenry and polytheism in general and see that the anti-pagan propaganda l was fed in Church was just that, propaganda, and inaccurate propaganda at that ( sorry for using the same word 3 times in one sentence). It's almost as if the Church leaders had ulterior motives to damage the reputation of polytheism, but no! Surely not(!). It is also pleasant to learn that the way of nonreligious that I was taught ( grave, severe, pofaced, definitely drowning on fun in any form) is not the only way. If I were ever to be religious again it would be some form of polytheism. Or, to give the short version of that message: great video, thanks.

Thank you for sharing this. When I embraced the Heathen path I swore if I ever had kids I would never try to force Heathenry upon them as was done to me with good old Southern Baptist Christianity. Now that I’m a dad to a one year old who is constantly trying to play with my Mjolnir pendant whenever I hold him, the fact that I will one day have to explain my faith to him in a way that isn’t indoctrinating is becoming more real. It’s comforting to hear that others are doing just that, and seem to be successful in doing so. You do our gods proud, and you earned a new subscriber.

While I agreed with what you said in the video I kinda didn't like how you kind of generalized Christian's being "bad" not all Christians are forceful or hateful, some are just as good and kind as you guys are because of their jesus's love teachings and such.

I think my criticisms are measured and fair given the extremely common and wide spread practices that I described. There are surely minority numbers that don't do that. But broadly it is the case that Christians do that. Sometimes the generalizations fit. Being harmful and indoctrinating doesn't mean they are unkind. Most probably don't realize what they are doing. I made no claims of them being "bad". Youre projecting your perception of what I said.
