I’ve been a fan of yours for a while now, around 4 years. Back when I first started watching I was in 7th grade. One of your videos came up in my recommended and because the thumbnail looked cool, I clicked. Few months later, I was a 13 year old with a Hobby Lobby sketchbook and a 12 pack of prismacolor pencils. I was so excited to draw every single day after school. I’d always put on one of your videos for background noise, even if I had already watched it 3 times over. I’d draw whatever the hell came to mind, just because I wanted to draw and be like you. I looked up to you so much. Now, I’m in my Junior year of high school. I never got as proficient in art as I wanted to so, regrettably, I gave up. However, I stayed a huge fan of yours through it all. I always come back to your content whenever I’m lonely, and need to feel like I’m on a discord call with a friend, just talking about whatever. It’s so comforting to hear you talk no matter the topic. You bring back such fond memories for me. Since I’ve matured I no longer see you as this unreachable idol, but instead a real woman who I can relate to and laugh with. Even though I no longer find passion in drawing, you’re still the KZbinr I watch the most and consider my favorite. But, in a way, you still influence me creatively. Because of you I got into OCs, roleplaying and writing my own stories. My little 13 year old self started writing about fantasy creatures and different worlds and cringey romance all because of you. I’m currently in AP writing classes and Duel Credit English classes. I’m chief editor of my school newspaper. I’m going to college to become an English teacher. All of this because you happened to reach a lonely little 13 year old. Thank you, Michie. Thank you. 💛

Something I remember seeing on twitter... "If you don't schedule a break for yourself, you body will do it for you and it will almost always be at an inconvenient time." Paraphrased, but the point is important nonetheless.

no its really true. As I said in the video I already live with chronic pain. So I NEED to put my breaks in my phone. Ive been a bit behind on work so over working myself. I had one of the worst back spasms in years last week. Where I was in bed for the rest of the day unable to do anything due to the pain

Same, my face was always like, inches from my paper. A screen-less tablet really helped me. The best I've been able to do with 'Don't finish everything' is change my normal style to be simpler. Messier lines & flats only.

The first one you said hit home immediately cause I’m a writer who prefers to write things out first before typing (and cause I like my own handwriting) and to de-stress I write a lot and oh boy does my thumb, pointer finger and the space between throb sometimes. I also can relate to getting real close to the paper. I got terrible eyesight so I’m always and inch about my paper which actually fucked up one of my ribs later down the line to the point I got one bent in rib

Wow I feel personally called out! But yeah.. this is all so true! For me i know i tend to take breaks and stretch my wrists every time i complete a stage of an art piece.. And wrist pain, i myself use a brace for days where it starts to get sore. Most of us are really bad about resting and think we can push threw the pain.. lemme tell ya it just gets worse. Stretches, crack your back if you can, roll your wrists. If you're an artist of any kind, you hands are you lifes blood, do not endanger them! .. and now im also checking Amazon for light filtering glasses .. Thanks Michie for the reminders 🥲😂😅✨

ngl, I've been listening to a lot of your video's and I just wanna say I appreciate the advice and content you provide for everyone. It's nice for me to be able to draw while listening to your stuff in the bg because my adhd is crap. lmao Some stuff I already knew but hearing tips about how to deal with it and other experiences regarding it is very insightful. Especially when it comes to putting yourself out there when money is involved! I hope you keep making art and are doing well, the art world needs more artist like you!

the best thing for hand/arm pain for me is stretches but not just hand stretches but full body stretches as well cause every thing in the body is connected, I for sure notice that my arm pain is way less when I do back stretches as well

Additional tip: change the positioning of your legs often so your blood doesn’t pool and your blood pressure doesn’t drop significantly the next time you get up I have experience with this unfortunately

This is relatable, but the tips will help, even drawing on my tablet. My hyperfocus gets so out of control that sometimes I finish something in a day, which isn't suitable after watching this.
