Just a heads up, there are a few audio cuts partway through, pretty sure that's an issue with adobe premiere pro not handling multi-channel audio, the project file for this video was a mess... sorry guys, hope it doesn't ruin anything!

In Georgia (the country) I remember our geography teacher showing us documentaries and stuff about the middle East which were like "look at how they execute gay people" A few years after that when some pushed for a pride event a journalist got killed. Before this video ive literally never heard a genuine story about civilians in the middle east. Ive also only had 1 memorable interaction with an Iraqi person.. they owned a tobacco store and i was there to get some cheapo cigarettes.. well guy was praying on the floor, assuming he was facing mecca.. and it took a while, the other American patrons there became INCREDIBLY racist and irritated. Most walked out, the others made sure to call him a slur.. i could tell he was hurt, so i took a minute to tell him that what he did was a human right, that he shouldn't be ashamed of his faith and that i would be back and support his business. Luckily his store still exists and i like going there for cool glassware and tobacco products.. im glad that even though im a propagandized American i was able to stay human.. great video

As someone who's been living in four different countries my whole life, I can understand a lot that feeling of moving out from your place of birth to a complete different place with a different culture and language. My experience was hard at first to adapt to a new country, but overtime I started adapting myself way better each time me and my family moved to another place, and it kind of become something common for me to do. The positive of my experience is that meeting people from different backgrounds and perspectives made me be more empathic and friendly towards others and it really help me a lot to become the person who I am today. Anyways, great video as always, I noticed some audio cuts in some camera transitions, but aside from that it was really interesting to hear about Saudi Arabia from this perspective.

To me that sounds like avoiding things like responsibilities due to anxiety, perhaps too much stress has been placed on you to "perform" well, or you are predisposed to anxiety disorders. I have autism (and probably ADHD) and have always been seen as very smart but experience the exact same problem regarding how I handle "the work". If you haven't ever been screened for either and find yourself relating to the symptoms of those disorders, I recommend looking into it, as a diagnosis can help recontextualize a lot and help you cope.

And people in the USA go on and on about how they are the most oppressed in the world. I will always say how lucky many people are living in the USA, and to not forget to make sure the constitution doesn't change or make sure it's still enforced to the letter. Washington himself was in support of gay people, along the lines of "We don't really care about that, come train our forces, we'll accept you as any other American" in regards to Baron Friedrich von Steuben, a man who came to America to train the revolutionaries after he was kicked out of Russia's army by being gay. Upon asking George Washington about if it will be okay for him to come over with him and his bf, He was quoted along the lines as above. America is a country of individual freedoms, you have the right to think different, do it different, and also be able to defend these rights from those who will take it. Many of the groups who are screaming they are oppressed in the USA atm are currently making the problem worse with armed forces in all black storming cities like its pre WW2 Germany. TL:DR Protect the Constitution in the USA, its why you aren't in a country like Saudi.

As a Christian, I really don't understand this kind of "Being gay is a sin" mindset. The New Testament explains that we all sin, and that there is no way for us to not sin. After all, the reason why Jesus died on the cross was so that we could go to heaven despite our constant sinning, as long as we believed in Jesus Christ. It's an almost Sadducee type of religion, where as long as you believe in Jesus Christ and ask God for forgiveness, then you can go to heaven. So to see other Christians who punish people for lesser sins, I see them more like the Pharisees. They're just hypocrites who are making people suffer for being themselves, which goes against what Christianity is all about. It's not about punishing the sinners, it's about finding forgiveness, since we are all sinners.

I feel like it says something about society when there are people that let religion dictate their lives to such an extreme. You give up your humanity for which something you can never be 100% sure in. Like I will never understand why anyone can torture/kill someone just because they are gay and feel it justified. It's literally the same as killing someone because they have blue eyes, not even a single difference, it's crazy

This story is very simillar to mine lol. I lived in Qatar for 8 years of my live (between 2-10 years old). I also lived in a compound for expats where all the workers were from the Philippines and Indonesia. They were not payed very much at all and we always felt really bad for them because they couldn't leave. During my time there I learned about trans people when I was 8 years old but I intentionally didn't explore my own identity because it felt wrong to do. Most likely because I was raised in a theocratic monarchy state. Nowadays I know I am transgender and pansexual. If I knew that then it would have been hell. Don't go to Qatar. Period.

34:32 I think I was friends with my "uranium kid" lol, he was a bit of an edgy guy, tons of anger issues and was probably half my height (im 5'7, bro was small). He was i think damn near pure German and would always wear Russian shit around school and would speak in Russian, he was an alright dude but he deffinitally had issues lol.

As a Muslim from sudan as an immigrant in Saudi ...we Muslims really don't have much exposure to the lgbtq community , And the west doesn't really like us , most of our portrays are negative, I mean yeah bigots exist in saudi but middle east and the west weren't exposed to each other much to adapt to each other but worry not stuff are changing , I started to have trans and gay friends and all and yeah Also note that saudi is huge so like not all places are like he described , burydah is an even cooler place for example lol ,

Nah honestly as a western atheist, I think Islam is kinda based, but I'm also whatever about what a person's beliefs are, so long as it's not intrusive to me. I do see the middle east as having heavily flawed governments though
