Being with Black-Tailed Deer

I went out after sunset to film an intro and outro to my video I was going to put out tonight and I did not notice I as among 3black-tailed deer.
When I looked, I noticed the deer and I then thought I'd take the time to enjoy being with them out there.
This was one of the local parks and the deer were just chilling and eating.
I did notice that the zoom on my camera is not great in lower light conditions. That will be good to know for the future.

Yes, they get desensitised to things. The normally don't allow you to point and talk right at them though😁 These one's just weren't ready to move along and I wasn't making any sudden movements. It's nice to be able to hang out with them.

You were up close and personal! I think the blacktails are sometimes less fearful than Whitetails. Blacktail and mule deer just aren't as easily spooked. I imagine it's magnified if they're commonly around people who don't pose a threat.

All the tamest deer I have ever been around were urban Whitetails and Mulies. Wild Blacktails have always been the spookiest… especially mature bucks

Out where you can hunt them, the blacktails are very skittish! The city ones seem to know that they are off the menu😁😁

@@guaporeturns9472 yeah, these were city deer so nothing like out in the bush. There is a reason Black-Tailed Deer are referred to Ghosts of the Forest🦌🦌

@@agesadventures For sure.. I’ve hunted em all and I gotta say to consistently get mature Blacktail bucks is the most challenging , at least to me. The older bucks become almost completely nocturnal.

They certainly look like pet deer🦌😁 I'll ask them next time if they want to hang out more often! The one's in town may be more friendlier, but the ones out in the bush want nothing to do with ya They are quite rude out there😀

good stuff age! we come across deer all the time, i just love it. they aren't afraid of us either. 🤭 just watch yourself during breeding season! as a kid, my dad used to take us on drives at sunset to spot deer. 🛴❤

Yes, during the rut we have signs out warning people! You also have to be careful around a doe and her fawns. The does will attack too! That's pretty cool that your day would take you out to spot deer😁
