It must be satisfying to have a job through which one helps people. Thank you. I was defeated by the task of reassembling the spring mechanism of a Beko washing machine (WMB 81641 LC). No combination made sense until I learned, from the video, that the spring is tensioned by the inner door plate, not the outer door plate. I'm most grateful. Phil

Same :D did try a different video for a slightly different Beko washing machine where this detail was not explained at all and I spend 1h+ on assembling and reassabling it over and over again and not understanding why the hook is tensioned the opposite way then it should.

What a gem. I looked at the other video to undo the door not realising I didn't need to dismantle the machine so much. However when I saw this video it made the tension on the spring of the handle much clearer when I saw how the clip had to sit. Very happy with the result 😀

Thanks for the advice and guidance. We had a broken door handle, and bought the replacement from Beko website. Clearly the original was of poorer quality as the new replacement had been strengthened in the area of the break. The whole handle looks like it has been made to a heavier duty spec. As to the removal of the door. After taking a look at the machine vthen others comments of difficulty with the wire ring, I wasnt keen at taking my chances, so held onto the retaining plate, using the slack in the rubber flange. With careful manipulation it was easy to remove the door with 2 people, although next time it could be done with one. The biggest stress was locating the spring with mount when bringing the front and back together, and locating the screw holes or posts. But overall a 15 minute job with the right tools. Thanks again.

This was great, my Beko door refused to open today and I had to go to the internet so I could find out how to force the catch and get my clothes out. Was going to call a repair man but having seen this, I'll be able to order the new catch and fit it myself. Ta muchly for the excellent tutorial.

Thanks. Worked a treat for my WM 7120W. I found it easier, though, to remove the door screws by the hinge and slacken the rest. That way, the door can be removed leaving the hinge still attached to the machine. Door seals can be a ****!

Thank you for this video. I had to change my handle and it was really clear. All fixed. I had to buy a .75 Hex screwdriver to undo the screws on the inside of the door. as they are not your standard phillips or flat head screws. Thanks again.

Slightly easier way of replacing door is leave the hinge on and just take out the screws. When you put it back only put in the catch screws plus 2 either side. You will then be able to easily spread the hinge area enough to clip the door back into the hinge. Gently squeeze the outer and inner frames together and redo the rest of the screws. Saves a bit of time and fiddly work by not taking the hinge off.

Thanks for the video, it helped a lot ! I could however remove the door without removing the seal: you can actually feel the metal plate through the seal, so it's possible to keep it in place by pressing it through the seal gently.

Hi mate. I have the wm74135w version but seem to be having trouble with the washer not knowing the metal safety thing is in the hole when I assemble the door back. I know the electronic part is ok as I can get it to latch on and think the door is closed by pushing it in which then would start. I must be not putting it back together correct. I know at the start of this video you do say you have one for the WM series but I can not seem to find it. The spring etc looks pretty identical to this one in the video but obviously must be different for you to make another video. Cheers if you can help.

Great video. Many thanks. But I wish I hadn't bothered to take the door seal retaining wire off. Replacing it took twice as long as the rest of the job, and wasn't really necessary. With a little care the back hinge plate would have stayed put. All happily sorted now though. Thanks again.

Is your machine the same as the one shown? Did the door close and lock prior to you dismantling it? Have you changed anything and was it like for like? If everything is and was the same size, check the orientation of the catch ; is it the wrong way round, for your machine?

Hi I just replaced my handle. I resolved this issue where the spring is not working. Basically the 2 bits that stick out from the spring need to go into some plastic that stick out on the other part of the door. So the other part does not go straight over. You need to slide it so that the spring part is in position and then push it down. It will hold tension and you can test the handle at this point if it is working as normal. Hope that helps

Hello. Already replace this plastic handle for new one, but... When i put all together back, and mount door on the washingmashine and trying to lock door, they won't lock, i mean doors are close but it should be also sound " click " then doors are locked. nevermind, i got it after blowing up the video on my wall... first of all, the wmb series catch faces outward. secondly, the spring outer feet is also facing the same direction as the catch. third, the springs horizontal bar must be facing opposite of the catch. fourth, when installing, make sure the outer plastic is on first, by aligning both of them - there is a vertical slit on the front facing cover, which you need to align with the rear facing cover. once u get them aligned pop everything in and screw it in place. and you are good to go.

@@How-to-repair Thank you - I saw the string/fishing wire trick in your reply link this morning. Replacing the door handle looked a bit complicated for me to do on my own (my husband and I would probably have tried it together, but he sadly died last December), I found a local washing machine repair man who came yesterday morning, used string to open the door and then removed the door and replaced the broken handle. (I thought the £63 inc handle was reasonable - OAP rate). I'm not sure I would have had the strength/ability to undo screws or enough hands to put it all together again, so I think I did the right thing .... but that doesn't detract from your KZbin video which would have helped in different circumstances.

Hi, that’s a very useful video!!!……my latch has broken across in a different place than you suggest they might, and managed to get washing out by using a dinner knife to slip behind the bit of catch still on door luckily enough. I did undo as you did….but my door was still on the machine…..well it was until the glass came away and I had to put it all back together….leaving the backing off so as to get door back on hinges before tightening up…. LESSON LEARNT:-…..check you tube for help first …THANK YOU🤝🤝🤝…..when my replace the catch comes I will replace it as you have shown…..but I am a bit wary about splitting the rubber when taking off the ring that holds it on to get at the hinge😧 KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND THANKS AGAIN!😎😂….Pip Dennis

You've probably fixed yours, but for anyone new: The 'correct' way would be taking the top off the machine and working your way down. However, GENTLE force with a crowbar, or large screwdriver, forcing the door towards the hinge should pop it open. It did for mine...

took me all day and god knows how many repeat attempts because there was no detail on getting the spring in the right position when you connect the 2 sides of the door again so we kept ending up with no tension in the handle. Otherwise thanks

The back plate for the door hinge has fallen..😤 how do I retrieve it please.

2 methods to get it back. Shake the washer until the plate falls onto the floor under the washer. If it doesnt come out remove the front of the washer. 3 screws at the bottom under the bottom piece at your toes. Remove them and push down on the door frame. When the front moves down just slide it away and reach in for the fallen piece.
