I think you went lost, the mussels are less thanb100m from where you took the mojito😂 I also advise you the beer from pouchenelekelder in front of manneken pis and the frites of patatak next to bourse, the best in brussels, with nice terrasse and brussels beer on tap. Also enter the bourse it's wonderfull inside. And then the tipical caricoles from a mobile stand, easy to find on the foire du midi.

If you are on the grand palace square, the hotel de ville is on your left you walk down the street and you literarily walk into "a la becasse" where you can get test samples or you know a 75 cl jug of any of the belgian beers you can possibly want. great if you are with friends. plus not that expensive. Locals usually go there to drink a pint. Brings me back to when i had a chance encounter with some american military guys ( now my closest friends). In horrible french they asked for directions so i said " you can ask in english" and after a bit of talking ( and the fact that the royal library was closed i had to do some research there) I led them around brussels ( history tour, food, and of course beer). One of them got so drunk we had to have him sober up at my apartment. "i can hold my booze" hehe good times. Yeah the brouckiere metro station is a big hub, its kind of like st pancreas but smaller but with the same dodgy people walking around. 100% agree, buy locally from small shops be it a mom and pop run beerhall, a pancake place, a regular shop and what have you. One suggestion: look up Steamboat. that is basically a baguette ( big one) with 3 large meat crockets stuffed in them along with belgian fries all the toppings you want and with whatever sauce you want ( mayo, bearnaise, pickles, and so on.). Make sure you have a great appetite though. Address cafe restaurant a la becasse: Rue de Tabora 11, 1000 Brussels Address where you can get a steamboat ( its litterarly 500 meters from a la becasse): it is called: Manneken Frites: Rue du Midi 30, 1000 Bruxelles. have great selection of different belgian dishes ( i love the frit special.. its with carbonade and a sweet n sour sauce with schredded unions)

It looks so nice there. I have never been there myself, but my husband just returned from a weekend in Belgium. Brought us some delicious chocolate. My husband also got warned there by locals to park very carefully as it’s very common to get your car smashed and robbed if they see a foreign number plate. He met a friendly shop owner who let him and his friends park their car in front of his shop so he can keep an eye on it while they explore the centre.

Hi Ines, If you get a chance to take the train and go across the do so. It is a fantastic place for a nice fun weekend. Food is great the vibe is nice and the city is beautiful I don't usually drive there, and honestly once you are there, you really dont need the car. The chocolates are amazing, my favorite are the Leonidas ones but it is hard to find bad chocolate in Belgium so any of the brands is amazing. Thank you Ines so much for watching

@@J.E.E Thanks for the suggestion. We are planning to go in September, hopefully. Going by car gives you an opportunity to see other places as well. We would go to Dunkirk from England first and then visit Bruges as well. If Brussels is the only destination, then the train makes much more sense, of course. 🙂 P.S. I’m writing this and enjoying my last piece of Belgian chocolate. 😀 It’s so good.

Ahh Sante Proost, a yard of yumminess I remember drinking yards of beers at British Pubs in the US and Germany but out of yard glasses. Bass Ale or something German. I think my record was 5 yards maybe 6 or 7 I held the record in the Prince of wales pub in Atlanta Georgia in my age group. it was over 20 years ago in the 90's shit 25 or more. . All those Belgian flavors I'm not into beers with fruit flavor anymore there was a time in the early 90's i thought it was the best thing on earth. I would still drink a yard with you the same one and suffer through it and eat some raw minced meat spread on bread that is my favorite pork is better though my favorite in Germany. Yo mate, I'm thirsty going to go out and sit in the beergarden with my Expat long time Praguers. Come to Prague when this damnd heat goes away and most of the tourists. I'll take you over to some of my old stomping grounds that have changed very little since the 1970's very Soviet looking and the murals have either been ripped or fallen off the sides of those buildings. I have not been there in a while and i'm longing for a pub tour out there. My local villiage Letnoid Bar fly friends won't venture out there anymore they like it but its 30 to 40 minutes away by tram. Tell you the nam where you are here. Later Bra .....ohh I've never had a good Muschel in my life besides the smoked ones from Spain or Portugal out of a Tin. I've used them as catfish bait in the US
@J.E.E2 жыл бұрын
Hello mate, That sound like a great plan and a great video lineup. Lets do a pub crawl in Prague as I love Czech beers. As for the tram ride, well dont worry, I have hopped on planes for less, so a 40 minute ride is cool. 25 years... man how time flies

Brussels is allright. I prefer Czech beer, though, as pilsner lagers are my favorite and Belgian beers always seem a bit heavy or overly hoppy to me. Belgium fries are great, especially with mayo...
@J.E.E2 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven, I couldn't agree more, I also like lighter beers and the Mayo is hands down the best in the world👍👌
@vincentvancauter83127 ай бұрын
@@J.E.E then you should order season beer, between 4 and 5 ° but more hoppy and tasty. The story of those is that in the field in the summer, when there were no fridge, they had to create a light, refreshing even if not really cold beer ( people used tu burry it next to the field) for the field workers. Now there are many served cold, like saison dupont or saison de Bruxelles. In fact all breweries have their own saison

Brussels is the second city in the world (after Dubai) with the most nationalities (180). Belgium has 400 breweries and around 1500 beers. The "Americain" is a preparation of raw beef that is eaten either in a sandwich or in a plate with belgian chips and salad. Another speciality is the tomato with grey shrimps. And don't forget the best pralines (small chocolates) in the world !
