@@augustuslunasol10thapostle While Premium Cake is right, I think it's important to explain why soldiers act like this. You see, the military is designed around making soldiers think and act like robots; Reacting and acting in response to changing environments and stimuli quickly, effectively and without losing their cool. Part of this is making soldiers suppress their emotions like an autist would. Due to this their brains have a great emphasis on the logical thinking centres. So, what soldiers consider "nice" is actually what fills them up the most, not whatever tastes better. This makes MRE's something soldiers will fight for, the high calorie and protein count makes their brains go haywire with dopamine just because of the very idea of a meal that has more calories and therefore, is more valuable to them. This applies to everything a soldier sees and senses due to their training, which is why they act so differently from civilians. So what you call nice and what soldiers call right end up being vastly different

What makes them Medium infantry compared to heavy? Does Belgium have an IFV based heavy infantry structure compared to this APC based medium one?
@BattleOrder4 ай бұрын
They just call it a medium capability sometimes. They have light and medium but no heavy and no tanks, although they used to
@v13r3r4 ай бұрын
I think the best way to see this is through the logistics and lethality lens. How long it takes to deploy, what they can deploy and what it takes to deploy them. Always remember this is relative for every military in the world. Light infantry are always the quickest too deploy, train up and sustain but this also means they carry the least amount of weapons. The addition of an IFV can be sufficiently "heavy" enough to reduce deployment time but will naturally bring heavier weapons. Adding tanks or heavy IFV is maximum damage the ground forces can bring tactically but this is results in greatly reduced deployment time. In other words: Light infantry: get the squad together, bring whatever weapons you can carry, jump in the jeep, get to the battle within 24 hours and fight almost exclusively on foot using only foot infantry tactics. Medium infantry: roll into battle in light armor and fight dismounted in conjunction with your mount or not. Any weapon you can't carry is stored in the mount and and you also have to feed and protect your mount. Heavy infantry: roll into battle with heavier mount and fire support vehicles which by physics, makes you slower to move, get together and hungrier to feed. You now fight with everything before and inconjunction with vehicles carrying much bigger weapons and all that entails. Hopefully that helps you see the "weight".
