I quit buying New Balance shoes 4 years ago, the More shoe I purchased 2.5 years ago had a too squishy heel. I purchased the V5 because of this video, could always return them. This shoe is the most comfortable shoe I have experienced for Walking and wearing around all day.. I'm not going to run in any shoe. Better than Hoka's , better than any Skechers Performance shoe. 220 lbs. size 13M. Plenty of toe box room, the tongue doesn't slide around, no heel lifting. Perfect shoe for me.

Interesting. Are you a person who typically prefers a bit of stability, or firmness? Or does mega-squishy tend to serve you just fine. My primary concern is that I need a fair level of structure, and these might be too squishy to provide much.

@q20a08 This shoe is stable enough with probably the widest outsole platform that I've ever seen. It's not the squshiest shoe I've ever worn, but it is the most comfortable.

You and I are in the same group of runners with 60+ pairs of shoes. I also agree that the More v5 is the most comfortable and plush running shoes I've ever run in. It's also very nice for walking and should be great for standing all day at a trade show I have coming up.

I have had this shoe for 2 weeks now and I love it, I also had the 4 which was no where near as much comfort so this is now my go to shoe even for casual and lifestyle type shoe it just feels like my feet are protected in Fort Knox of padding and the bounce even just walking is crazy good feeling on my feet. A SMACK out of the park in my opinion!

For me as a heavyweight runner NB More v 5 is the best max cushion shoe. Very soft and comfortable. I like the thick foam in the forefoot. V 4 was also great. V 3 was too firm. I thought the Hoka Bondi was ok but also a little bit firm. I loved Nike Invincible v 1 and 2. V 3 didn't attract me to buy. A completely different shoe. I'm also curious about the coming Brooks Glycerin Max and Puma Magmax.

V4 feels wider to me. I lined them up and v4 looks wider too. The tongue is so much better in the V5 and that was my only gripe with v4.

my v4s are nowhere near as wide as my more v5s they are sitting inches away and it's not even close, "disregard this" I got to looking I have the extra wide in my m5s and regular in the v4s

Received my pair today and immediately took it out on an easy 7-mile run. It's really, really good. It's great. It's a noticeable improvement over the v4, which I still have and will continue to use as it probably has another 100 miles or so left on it. But I'll probably use it more for power walks than running now that I have the v5. The v5 is more cushioned while having a little more bounce with a smoother transition and turnover. It feels and rides faster than v4 and doesn't feel as clunky. With the More v4, I rarely wanted to go more than 5 miles with it but I feel like I can take the v5 on 10+ mile long runs albeit at an easy slow pace. The fit of the upper is better as well and it's really nice to have a gusseted tongue that the v4 lacked. I have a feeling that the v5 will get better and better with more miles once it breaks in and molds to my feet. It's plush, smooth, and actually fun, which isn't something you expect from a max-cushioned shoe like this.

One thing I never understood is why the More is less than the 1080 as far as price point. I asked my store rep and it still doesn't make sense. I am not complaining though :)

I’ve said before and I’ll say again - I’m dying to try this as a HUGE fan of the 1080v13 - but with the updated foam - I’d be surprised if this doesn’t shit all over the more v4. The 1080v13 with the new foam formulation - just feels so much softer more cushioned and more plush than the more v4 - these more v5? Can’t wait to give it a go

Did you notice it being narrow? I added an insole and got the biggest blister on my big toe. It’s got amazing cushion. Just seems narrow in the forefoot and I have a narrow foot

I love the V4 and still have 2 pairs. I do not like the V5 gaining weight, nor the stack height, because the V4 already has lots of everything so it seems like an unjustified overkill of a good thing...

It's definitely better than the Nimbus 25 and 26 in my opinion. very comfortable for walking and standing on your feet all day!

Mine should arrive early next week. I like the More v4 for recovery runs but don't love it - just a little too clunky and makes it feel like I'm running on wet sand, which isn't always bad, of course. It just has no fun factor whatsoever. Hope I can love the v5 since I love the 1080v13 for easy-to-moderate mid-distance runs. A little more bounce along with the stability would make a big difference.

@@ethaneriksson6247 Yes, I like it a lot and it's an improvement over v4. It's bouncier and foam feels a bit firmer, making it easier to pick up the pace a bit. It's still an easy/recovery shoe to run at a relaxed pace. Super comfy underfoot and very stable. The upper is a little on the warm side and fits snug due to the low volume. I went TTS and the length and width are fine but the low volume provides a snug fit. Still pretty comfortable. I love it for recovery runs mainly in the 5~7 mile range, but I did one run over 10 miles and it felt really good. I think this is about as plush as a running shoe can get.

IDK, when I was just starting with running V3 was my only shoe for all types of runs, yes including “speed” work. Although calling that pace speed was a bit generous 😂

Saw on a couple reviews the 1080 has more actual foam under foot than the More due to the way the stack is measured on the More (sidewalls).

I have the v5 and the 1080v13 and the v5 definitely has more foam than the 1080v13. The 1080v13 has a higher stack than the more v4 by 4mm but it's less than the v5 by 6mm. Perhaps the video you saw was comparing the 1080 with the More v4. The v5 44/40 measuremennt doesn't include the sidewalls. I just measured the shoe and with the sidewalls, it's 60/45 mm lol so the 44/40 is definitely midsole only. And as for the on-foot sensation, v5 definitely feels higher stack than the 1080v13.

6:14 . Many of these shoe-obsessives own a less weighty/less supportive model for the days when they want to blaze a new personal record, or such. Point being that More v5 is quite wide/hefty, so concerned speedsters might want something nimbler to reach for on a "fast" day. Those with little concern about blazing an impressive pace, or just heavy support needs, can certainly ignore others who might snicker at the less speedy/racy character of this model. Personally, injury prevention currently outweighs any significant speed concerns.
